Mr Cornelie and I started exercising!

Compared to other people in this thread, we are total wimps, especially from the waist up. We decided to change this, but knowing how easily we get demotivated, we take our time.

We've been doing a short youtube arm workout with light dumbbells in the mornings and long walking and cycling in the evenings. We also want to do push-ups, but can't even do a single one, so we've started with planks and will work our way up from there.

DDP yoga - leg day (ow)

What is this yoga you speak of? I like a. Good, sweaty yoga.

it's called ddp, a pro wrestler is the spokesman, it's a low-impact one that doesn't hurt injuries etc but still beats the crepe out of you! I downloaded it using not-quite-legal means, unfortunately the discs are quite expensive!

50 minutes today, had to lie on the floor for like 20 minutes after.

I'll have to look into this more, it sounds like it'd be a good one to not exacerbate my problems when my fibro flares up.

Thanks!

This morning I did the 20 minute Turbo Jam routine. It's been a long time and I was winded pretty quickly but I am happy I got the ball rolling.

Team track workout. Main set was a ladder at 10k pace: 2'/4'/6'/8'/6'/4'/2' with 30 seconds active recovery

I've been doing the YRG/DDP yoga videos every day for the past 2 weeks (excluding 2 days when I just did regular yoga) and DANG I LIKE IT. It doesn't hurt any of my old injuries! and I can feel myself getting stronger! and I was making out with someone I hadn't made out with since I left the US and he literally stopped and said to me "um, hey, uh, is you butt... rounder than it was?" so A+ review from my friend-with-benefit

the dude leading it is totally ridiculous and makes you say "hulk it out" while very slowly and deliberately moving your arms in to a hulk position, but it's really nice.

oh! I forgot to mention: hiked 6 miles up and down a mountain wearing a dress and flats a few days ago because my friends and I are good at planning and terrible at remembering what we've planned.

Boober, you've got me interested in this ddp stuff! It sounds like a good workout!

it really is! I promise they're not paying me, but it's just that it's the first workout that i haven't had to modify so as not to re-injure myself AND it's a hard one. usually I have to choose between things that hurt me and things I don't feel at all! the sweet spot used to be running for me, but then my asthma started getting worse and running is less fun when you have to stop every few minutes to take a hit off an inhaler.

I had to stop running due to rheumatoid arthritis, and even though I'm on a treatment that's helping a lot, my feet still keep me from running or doing the elliptical. I really really miss feeling physically challenged, getting my heart rate up because it was an important part of managing stress and anxiety for me. So I like the sound of this!

5 mile run. On the dreadmill. Because apparently I hate myself.

(Note to self: get up on time so you don't have to resort to using the treadmill after class. That extra 30 minutes isn't worth it)

It was my longest ride ever! Yeah, I did it as a brick. I've been running pretty strong off the bike. Of course, it was a really short run... not sure how long I could have kept up that pace feeling that good! I suppose I'll find out soon enough.

Awesome, congrats on your longest ride ever! Remind me, what and when is your next race?
