I have an olympic next week, strictly a C race to work on pacing/negative splitting, etc... and a half-iron in mid-September, also just race experience vs a race. Ironman FL is 11/1.

Well, yes, that is true but even training for an Ironman is amazing to me. Give yourself some credit! You are a dedicated athlete and I see from your posts that you are out there with your teammates, week after week, on the track and bike and in the pool gettin' it done.

Yesterday was an hour in the gym with the weights, mostly legs, shoulders and core then an 8km easy run right after.
Today is 75min of hot yoga.

Thanks, studio. I lose perspective sometimes, surrounded as I am by Ironmen and living with an accomplished bike racer. It's not that I forget what a huge undertaking it is (because it's terrifying!) I just... I don't know... the normalcy of it sneaks up on you!

Team track workout, main set adjusted down because I'm racing this weekend: 8x400, descending from 10k pace from 1-4 and 5-8.

26th day of this yoga stuff. still good, still super sweaty. good thing I have a stash of like 15 t-shirts I don't wear in day-to-day life, and I work out at home so I don't have to wear any pants. otherwise I'd have to do laundry every single day.

:)

Yesterday I skipped my swim (super impressive, I know, but man did I need a lazy evening all to myself...) Tonight was a 45 minute spin on the trainer with 6x1' threshold efforts.

Quick pre-race tune-up: 15 minute open water swim with 3x30 strokes fast, 25 minute ride with 3x1 minute hard efforts, 15 minute run with 2x15 second pickups.

PR? Personal record?
If that's what it means, that's awesome! Good job, monkeytoes.

Yup, personal record. Two years of training represented in those 19 minutes. :)

Tonight is supposed to be a very easy one hour recovery spin on the trainer, but I might end up cutting that a little short.

Is the regional track and field championships over here.
I'll run the 5000m. I'm not running for a position, this time I'll just attack my PR.
I hope I can stay as long as possible as the pace that my coach told me to follow. I'm already nervous :P
