Today, I did an FTP test, and it went pretty well!

Um, I skipped some workouts last week but did a couple trainer rides, rode 45ish miles on Sunday and did a team track workout tonight for the first time in forever. 4x800 at sub-5k pace for the main set.

Yesterday (its early morning now) I did about 40 minutes of weight lifting with barbells/dumbells/parallel bars etc and a few weight machines at the gym. Then 40 minutes of speed walking (25 on treadmill and 15 outside during break at work).

Yesterday I went back to spinning for the first time in almost four years. I used to love spinning, but when I moved to Israel, it wasn't really a thing here yet, and I couldn't find a class nearby. A gym with a spinning studio officially opened by me yesterday, and I got back into it right away.

All I can say is...WOW does it hurt to sit down today, but class was AMAZING, and I'm already signed up for another session tonight....I'm on a total spinning high!

Last week: a bunch of stuff that I didn't log here :)
Today: Short-ish swim set including a 1000m time trial so that my coach can use it to set intervals in upcoming workouts, and a 7.55 mile run

Friday night I did an awesome bike ride with two personal bests: 10km at 36kph and 1km at 40kph. Normally I'm scared to do anything above 30kph, but all the bike lanes were empty and it was gorgeous out :)

I workout six days a week for about one to two hours and have done this fairly steadily since 2007. This time of year however gets more exciting as the temps finally climb up into the forties and fifties for the highs and it is warm enough for me to cycle to work, the gym, and around on offroad trails. Last week the weather was glorious....in the forties in the morning and upper fifties, low sixties (Fahrenheit) during the day so I rode my bike to the gym and to work all week. Unfortunately it turned nasty again with lots of wind, rain, and high temps in the forties all weekend and next week and lows back down in the twenties. Hopefully this is the last of winter though. My body can not take too much cold on my bike. I can snowshoe in subzero temps, but I can't do the bike below 40 degrees F no matter how warm I dress.

So today was 40 minutes of free weights and weight machines at the gym, and 40 minutes on the elliptical, followed by some cool down stretching and a few ballet moves :) in the studio. I hauled laundry in my pack on my back across the street from the gym and then on home. Now I am just lazing around after sweeping the floors and dreading Monday lol.

Had an awesome hour long bike ride before work. I rode to a back bay of a river and stopped and watched some Golden Eye ducks and took in the sun and fresh air and tried to enjoy the moment before heading off to a long day of tough work. Worked through my first break and lunch but managed to pull myself away to take a nice afternoon walk and get some fresh air for 15 minutes, and then rode my bike home after work.

My workouts have been hit or miss lately and I was feeling really hopeless about being 180 days out from Ironman AZ until I looked back at where I was last year for the first month of that 180 day period. I have been running a little less (in terms of long runs) but I have way more riding under my belt then I had this time last year. So, that helped me rededicate a little bit. I have a race coming up on 6/14 and it will likely be a shiitake show, but I should be on track after that. So.

Yesterday was a 52 mile ride with 4x30' tempo efforts, followed by a 4.5 mile transition run with 3 miles at tempo.
This morning was an 8.5 mile zone 2 run, and later I will do a spin on the trainer (supposed to be 2 hours, but I will be happy if I get in 90 minutes.)

40 min on the elliptical.

I have to start working out daily for a study at work, but I don't have time to drive to a gym and take a class, which is my usual MO. My apt has a small gym with an elliptical, stationary bike, and treadmills. I'm looking for a app or video I can play on my iPhone to guide me on the bike (20-30 min, vigorous intensity). Has anyone found a source they can recommend? I haven't found much I like on Amazon or the apple App Store. Haven't gone through the YouTube videos yet, it's a bit intimidating!

Started yesterday with 2 15 min quick work outs from UFC Personal Trainer (PS3), then today I started their 30-day strength training program which was another 30 minute exercise combo of lunges, push ups, squats, arm lifts etc.

Everything hurts, and I failed 30% of what the program wanted me to do. But I am going to try and stick with it, maybe mix in some stuff outside the game to work on getting the strength to do a push up.

Yesterday was a deadly track workout: 2km warm run to the the track, form drills, dynamic warm up stretches and strides, 10 x 400m repeats and 2km run cool down.

I got the go-ahead from my doctor to go back to doing the yoga/not really yoga (YRG) program i was doing before, so I got really excited and did two routines which I will probably regret tomorrow but whatever

30min routine in the morning, 1 hr in the evening. I'm all floppy.

(I can't do normal slow/super stretchy yoga because my body ate most of its connective tissue and now things can just pop out of place or get hurt if I hold positions for too long, but the yrg stuff is quick and doesn't push you to stretch too far so doc said it was okay! hooray! I was so sad to lose my regular workout, but it's back now!)
