I am on day 12 of P90X Lean Program and I kind of wish I had done Classic instead. There is no plyo or the chest one with all those push ups and pull ups... and I kind of hate Kenpo X. Actually, I hate anything which requires coordination. I know the moves in kickboxing or punches and such don't require much coordination but I always feel like I'm doing it wrong or look stupid doing it. Le sigh.
Can we post our progress pictures on this thread?

You can always switch it up yourself! No harm in doing plyo instead of kenpo or doing chest& back one week instead of the other back workout.
If we're voting, I'd vote against pictures of bodies, but that's just me.

Yeah, I know how some people feel about that kind of stuff, that's why I asked first. I just mean like at the end of 90 days to show the accomplishment, not me in a bikini or something. Something of a more conservative nature might be okay? So, I am using the P90X app on my ipod and switching out a routine isn't the same as just putting in plyo instead of kenpo for one day instead. It's all pre-scheduled. Is anyone else using the app?

I had my first Cardio Abs today. I was so beat after Pure Cardio but I thought, it's only 16 minutes, I can do it. Notttt. I was so exhausted so it was difficult, even thought it wasn't nearly as hard as Ab Ripper X -- or maybe I just wasn't doing some of the moves properly, or maybe I didn't realize I stopped moving. Haha. Anyway I've felt totally exhausted all day!

I had my second fit test today. I did a lot better in some areas and close to the same in others, and I'm so pleased with those results. However, I did 3 fewer power jumps! The total number was pretty much the same, no big deal, but just...hmm. Those are the hardest things for me because trying to do them properly means jumping like Spider-Man in a previously impossible way for me. It's like Plyo X jump knee tucks but 10x harder.

I haven't tried the fit test. I was thinking it was more something that would scare you off if you were really out of shape, so I never popped it in. Is it a proper workout, or something to measure your progress?

It's for measuring progress but it's a pretty decent workout, about 25 minutes. You do the warmup routine once through (I repeat it to get a better workout out of it) and stretch a little then you do 8? I think? moves for one minute each (with about a minute in between each when I jog in place) and see how many you can do. Seriously though, power jumps are insanely hard when done right/5 feet off the ground with your knees by your shoulders, right?

Ski abs and in & outs kill me bc my arms give out! I'm def too tired by that point to be relying on my abs, so yeah. What do you think of Cardio Abs? Some of the pulsing things I think I was doing very wrong.

Never tried it, actually. I do Ab Ripper X three times/week as it is. I watched a bit of Cardio Abs and it kinda looked more cardio than abs. What's your experience? If it's really a good ab workout I'll give it a try. I tried the P90X+ ab workout a few times, and I thought it was kind of silly to be honest -- not as good a workout as ARX. I never felt that pain in the gut the next day that tells you you grew some muscle.

I think recovery is my least favorite video so far. It's so painful (yeah what was I doing the first time I did it??) but sooo boring! It's shorter than the others but it feels 10x longer. Argh. Also, the girl Ariel? I think? whose body I want? looks like blonde Sutton Foster.

Yeah I tried the Insanity Recovery DVD twice. Didn't like it much either time. Also I'm not sure it's a good recovery if you're doing P90X as well -- it comes a couple days after Legs & Back my legs are already "toasty toast" and hurting. I just do yoga on recovery day. So I had to google Sutton Foster, but I think I know who you're talking about. There are photos of the different Insanity folks here: http://www.teambeachbody.com/connect/me ... /166471442I can't say there's a dude in there whose body I want. What I find so funny is that when the camera isn't on them, the guys are all DYING. Slowing down, panting, bending over resting. Then Shaun T and the camera come over and they're all woof woof woof high performers. There's also that one funny moment where they focus in on the beautiful black girl who is bent over breathing absolutely still and the subtitle says "Never stop moving." Ha ha. The editor must have been hungover.

OK so I'm supposed to be doing this stupid IT thing right now, but instead I was searching on your girl. She's a ballet dancer, so sort of a ringer for the Insanity videos, versus the regular joes on P90X. Scroll down this page for a bio, her name's Ariel Shepley: http://worldofstage.com/theater/eventdetail/1342

I really miss yoga. I might switch out Insanity recovery with P90X yoga. But maybe since I'm not doing the hybrid that's a bad idea. We'll see.
Yeah I'm kinda obsessed with all the ladies' bodies. They are amazing! And today I think Jimmy is very cute. But he's no Bobby Steves :P
I love when it says 'never stop moving' during Pure Cardio at the end bc EVERYONE is on the ground. So funny

WAIT SHUT UP!!! Ariel is Ariel Shepley?? I've seen her live! Last saw her in first performance of Leap of Faith. Can't believe it. She probably knows Sutton. That's too funny.

I'm a little obsessed too, but for different reasons! :) But sadly they're all half my age, so it's just daydreaming...

So is Ariel the one behind and off to the right of Shaun T, with blue shorts and olive top? I had been thinking about the woman in the long blue pants, but he calls her Rachel. She's got a dancer body too, sleek like a fish!

Yeah I think so, and the one he shows off in Cardio Abs. They're all just amazing. And it's funny that the women seem better at it than the men, who peter out!

Right? The guys are dogging it and the women are pounding away. It makes me wonder -- you know how in P90X they use graduates of the program in the videos. Maybe for Insanity they went out and hired a bunch of good looking fitness models and it turned out they weren't so fit! You'd think they'd at least use people who could do the whole workout.
I'm keeping up with the Pure Cardio until the Level 2 drills, but then I fall behind. Makes me so mad!

I took 3 days off from P90X because I was sick, but I'm back to the grindstone! Day 20! I also work out on PT days at work (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) but I try to take it easy. I'm feeling pretty good. I've lost a good deal of body fat so far. I can't wait till the 30 day mark to measure my results.
