Good work Dragon! How's it going with the Kenpo? That was always my least fave P90X routine. Totally lame in my view.

Duuudes! Again I have to take several days off from Insanity. I climbed Snowden in Wales on Sunday. It was so fun and so hard (about 5 hours ) and I did well (thanks to Tony for my thighs, prob, haha). But. Oh my god. I cannot walk. On the descent, in order to protect my knees, I kept my legs really bent, like I was doing a Groucho walk. It worked really well, and I felt great the whole time and my knees are fine now. But my quads! My quads are destroyed. I am such a mess hahaha. I hope I recover soon! I tried to do X stretch today and I couldn't even get into a horse stance. Jesus. When I'm recovered I think I'm going to repeat last week.

I did Kenpo again last night, I'm horrible at it.

Greetings from Hong Kong! I did "Back and Biceps" this morning at my hotel at 6am during the worst hour of the typhoon. Wind howling, rash lashing the windows of the gym, and water dripping everywhere through the ceiling! I had to keep moving my laptop so water wouldn't drip on the keyboard. Aside from that and struggling to convert kilograms to pounds on all the dumbbells, went fine...
Oh and Randi your pal Bobby S. says hi.

Jesus be safe! My boyfriend's entire firm (every office) got an email yesterday saying the Hong Kong office was forced to close bc of the typhoon. Can't believe you are there! What are you doing there (and how do you travel so much? I want to do what you do!)? Be carefulllll!

I'm an International Man of Mystery!
Hong Kong seems fine. Few trees down, little damage here and there. Worst winds hit 100pm on the island, but the typhoon itself stayed about 80 miles offshore to the south and then went ashore. Today it's raining steadily -- actually it's been raining for 3 days solid and the forecast says 3 more. Right now I can't see much of Kowloon out the window, which tells you how hard it's raining.
I'm here teaching at a leadership development offsite for an ad agency. That's more or less what I do. Clients like to hold these offsites in nice places all over the world. I keep a list of where all I've done P90X workouts -- this year I've been to Sydney, Shanghai, Lisbon, and more regular cities like NY, Chicago, Miami. In the Fall I'll hit Copenhagen, Dubai, and some beachy resort in Brazil. Maybe Athens, not sure. I love traveling.

I'm so so jealous! I would love to travel like that for work.
I tried Plyo circuit today and did ok but couldn't do squats at all.

Well it sounds like you get around -- Philly, London, Wales. What do you do?

I'm getting close to my pull-up goal -- did 99 in today's Legs & Back workout. I was a sweaty pile of shivering vegan jello afterwards. But maybe 2-3 more weeks and I'll finally hit 100. Damn that last round of switch-grips though -- I was straining so hard my vision got all blurry!

99????? That was in caps but you can't tell with numbers. Holy crepe! I still can't do one unassisted. Be careful don't pass out!

(Oh and I am in the UK as a tourist because I'm trying to get a job here to be with my partner.)

Well that's over the course of the whole workout you know, all 8 exercises. So it's an average of 12 or something at a time. I want to get to where I can do 25 in a row, like that guy who lives on a boat. I can do 19 reverse-grip chin ups and 18 wide front pull-ups, and then it drops way off because I'm toast and on the very last switch-grips I do maybe 7.

But I should add that on my very first P90X Legs & Back workout, which was 26 months ago, I did exactly 2 unassisted pull-ups. Which means even with all that sweat and grunting, I've been adding them at a rate of less than 1 per week for over 2 years. Crazy huh.

Still pretty amazing work you've done! Also I laughed at 'the guy who lives on a boat' haaha.
Made it through pure cardio! (Not like keeping up, but without quads giving out. Almost recovered!)

Quads still hurting? You must have absolutely wasted them on that hike!

Still raining here in Hong Kong. I haven't seen the sun in 6 days. But I'm leaving tomorrow, yay.

Yeah it was a legit mountain climb, with scrambling across gaps with your hands and everything!
I think I'm gonna do yoga x tomorrow. I miss it!

Okay, I'm really sucking and haven't worked out in ages. I'm really trying to find a routine that works for me with work, my curly-ass hair, and sleep. And the husband's ankle has been swollen for a week and a half so I haven't had him to push and motivate me.

Ohh someone else with curly-ass hair! Is yours long? I keep whipping myself in the face with my braided ponytail during Insanity and I HATE it but it's the only style that keeps my hair out of the way. That girl in the videos with her long curly hair down made me crazy the first time I saw her (I was like 'Put your hair up!') but now I get it.

I just finished my first week of Insanity. My fat places feel all loose and squishy.

Mine still do! Week 4 (but I'm repeating a phase 1 week before moving on).

I did yoga x yesterday and plyo circuit today. I guess from not doing yoga for a month it was pretty tough on my muscles bc my legs actually felt sore today! Especially my butt. Weird! I really like the idea of doing yoga on my rest day, and maybe trying to do x stretch 2-3 times during the week at night. Whether I do that is another issue.

I'm sooo nervous for starting max interval stuff!

I'm on week 2. I'm not sore anymore! I could barely walk last week.

This past week I've been having a harder time in the phase 1 workouts. Don't know why! I've been out of breath more. booo.

Sorry Randi. Sometimes I just bonk on workouts. No cause I can tell, just bleah. Have you tried any of the Max workouts yet? I'm scared of those.

Not yet! Because I had to take a few days off last week or the week before, I decided to repeat week 3. So instead of having recovery week next week and then phase 2, I have an extra week to be nervous for phase 2. It's like half procrastinating, half wanting to be as ready as possible.

I'd be terrified. I just did Plyometric Cardio Circuit (in a nice place by the way -- on a deck looking through some trees at a small lake in Northern Michigan, near Traverse City) and I STILL can't keep up with those mofo's. I took about 8 little breaks, maybe 10 seconds each to catch my breath. I'm beginning to wonder if I'll ever be able to keep up...

Same! It's those level 1 and 2 drills. I can't do push-ups that fast after doing all that cardio. I have to go to my knees after a while.

I'm OK with the push-ups, but I do tons of those in the P90X workouts. It's the ski abs that get me. The front of my mat is a pool of sweat when I'm done, which is kinda gross. Here I can let it lie out in the sun to dry, but sometimes I have to roll it up right away and go somewhere, and unrolling it later unleashes a nasty cocktail of wet dog and soiled diaper.
