Mack, congrats on finishing the C25K! You're amazing. That's great that you're already tweaking your running and continuing to get ready for your 5k. Did I say you're amazing? You are.

I took a two month or so break due to my health stuff (and subsequent laziness) but I went for a run yesterday and felt great! I got to almost the end of week 6 before and now I'm starting back in week 3 since I'm on about week 3 of a cold and figure I should start out slow. Here's to finishing this time!

I did couch to 5K but the time version rather than the distance version, so it was couch to 30 minutes. I loved it and kept up running 30 mins a few times a week for about two years. I used these free mp3s http://www.c25k.com/podcasts.htm.

Well, I am kind of glad I found this thread. I've been meaning to do redo the c25k as a way of slowly rehabing my knee. I don't know if I should join a gym since it's winter though or just buy some under armor and go it outside. Here is to good workouts, you guys!

I am very slowly making progress. I am on W3D3 and will continue to stay on it until I can run all of the 3:00 markers. Just wanted to post for C25K solidarity. I am exercising to lose weight and to help with depression and anxiety.
GO C25Kers!!

I just started this today, FINALLY. I've been thinking about it for probably a year. I kept making lame excuses for not doing it.
W1D1 was hard, but I got through it. I didn't feel like I was going to die, but it really got my heart rate up.
I don't want to lose weight, but I NEED to build endurance!

Thanks torque! I actually sort of want to go again tomorrow, but I know I should space out my days. I will wait until Monday.

Did Week 7 Day 2 today--I was surprised I finished it since it's been about a week and a half since my last run. It was also my first time actually running on a treadmill. I've always been a little afraid of treadmills since I can see myself being someone who'd have a spectacular misstep and go flying off of one... but anyway I actually found it a little easier than the track. Something about not having to think about how many more times I have to go around really freed me to concentrate on running.

I have hurt my knee but so help me I'm gonna strap on my knee bandage and restart this next week!! haha. I'm all motivated at the moment as it's the new year so hopefully I'll not flake out after 3 weeks again this time. I've done this before, I can do it again.

I've missed nearly a week of work-outs thanks to work, sick, and holidays. Back to it tonight, thank goodness. Might add an extra week 2 session before I bounce (stagger) to week 3.
Go us!

Redoing C25K in preparation for my first half marathon. it's perfect timing to do this and then do a 10 week half training.

This is probably a dumb question, but how do you know when you're really ready to move onto the next week? I'm finished with week 1 and should be moving onto week 2 on Saturday, but W1D3 was not easy for me! Is it supposed to be? Or do you just push on anyway and trust the program?
I am literally moving into this straight from the couch. Never exercised in my life. I used to pretend I was sick (or simply just hide or skip class) to avoid gym in school. I am the definition of sedentary. I'm trying to change that, obviously...

the programs i used suggested different things- one that i needed to repeat each workout x number of times, another til i felt "good". it sounds so arbitrary, but i really like the idea of having to repeat the workouts multiple times til i "get it".... it isn't going to be easy, necessarily, but it should be like "i didn't even think i was going to die" kind of survival. there are a lot of forums about doing C25k and lots of discussion about certain weeks where the jump is bigger than others (i don't remember now). i think much more than the program, your feelings are much more important. if you think "god i just made that by the skin of my teeth" then maybe you should do that day again.

I think I'll try week 2 and see how it goes. I'm just afraid that if I can't do it, I'll get discouraged. I definitely didn't feel like I was going to die after week 1, but I also didn't feel like I had it in me to do more.
