Thanks Cornelie!
Good luck out there tonight, hope it's not raining where you live.

I'm starting C25K. I realized that I am entirely too deconditioned to start any kind of regular running training plan, so I'm starting over from scratch. Day 1 was great! Wish me luck!

Good luck quagga!

It's been too cold and snowy for running here, so we're slacking. We'll probably have to repeat the final weeks of the couch program when the wheather improves.

I just finished Week 1 of C25K! :) The biggest difference for me this time is that I am exercising with my iPhone (using the Active C25K app) and am listening to podcasts. It helps!

It's a little difficult dressing appropriately -- the clothing required to keep me comfortable at a walk is significantly different from the clothing required at a jog!

I'm dying for it to get at least up into the 40s so I can run outside on the trails again! I know it's supposed to be harder on the actual ground than on a treadmill, but I think the treadmill is just so boring to me that it feels like the runs are longer. No amount of podcasts or books on tape can stop the treadmill boredom.

Well, I've been walking briskly 3 days a week for almost 2 weeks in prep for trying Ct5K again. I'll start week one on Monday, and I'm planning to take it more slowly this time (most likely doing each week for 2 weeks) than I did last year. I desperately want to succeed at this and I so, so hope I can make it this time around!

Which reminds me, I was going to make a playlist for week one... *scurries off*

Ready for Week 4! So far so good. I was at an all-day training last week and was so proud of myself for doing my little 30-minute run during the lunch break. Screw socializing with non-vegans I say! Get your run in!

I started week 1 today. I made it about halfway through the workout and completely burned out, so I walked most of the rest of the way with one 60 second run in there. Hoping to do better on Wednesday's try! I'm hoping by the end of the week to be able to do the whole workout and then I'll be set to do it all next week!

Week 4 is done! I got behind by a few days because I was lazy, which is not a good sign. But I shall carry on!

Week 5 Day 3 is tomorrow--the long-awaited 20 minute long run. Woot!

I try not to think about the fact that long runs of two hours were once well within my abilities.

Week 6 Day 3 - Done! Week 7 coming up!

My pace is slower than slow, but at least I keep on running!

How's everyone else doing?

I need to actually progress. I keep staying in week 3 just as a comfort thing. It's not difficult for me, and I feel good after I do it, but the point isn't to stagnate, dang it. I was into week 4 before the winter and those 5 minutes seemed like an eternity, but I did it.

MUST MOVE ON.

It's hard when you have to fight the weather! I've postponed so many sessions just because of the wind! I'm looking forward to adding minutes to my runs now - I have to tell myself that added miles will come later. I also have to tell myself not to look too far back into my training log to see the miles and times that I used to run! But I'm happy when I look back four weeks and see the intervals I was running near the beginning.

Anyway, the seasons are changing and I hope that more PPKers will resume the challenge and work through the weeks. It's really worth it.

We did 20 minutes last week. Our speed was still good, but we were up to 40 minutes before the winter. It just got too cold for us. I have trouble breathing when it gets too close to freezing temps. We're having another cold, wet en wind spell now, but in April we WILL get back on track.

I want to start this, and see that there are a ton of apps available. Anyone have a favorite?

I used a very basic one called Simple C25k. It doesn't have any tips like the podcast I used the first time round, so it depends if you want a more detailed intro to running with tips on technique, or just something that will run in the background and bleep when you need to switch between running and walking. I liked it because it didn't take up much room in my phone's (tiny!) memory and because I could listen to my own music and podcasts. I'm sure other apps will also let you do this though, and I'd be interested in other suggestions too as I am planning to start running again soon.

I've been using Zombies, Run! 5k training. I'm only starting week 4 but love it!
I did find the jump from week 2 to week 3 kinda steep though, and then too relaxing in week 4. It's still fun though, so it motivates me to actually get out and run.

I use 5KRunner. With the last update, this very friendly/encouraging voice cuts in and tells you how great you are. I like it.

I've gotta get back to the program. I was doing so well, and then I just lost my momentum... :(

I'm planning on starting again. I got four weeks in and hurt my knee and never started after it got better.

Wish me luck.

The Zombies one is so fun! I did it before I got Ichabod. I have to download it now that she's of proper running age.

We just went out for our second run. The first was short (1.5 miles) because I'd just done a Jillian Michaels video and didn't realize my legs would be so sore from her ab workout. Oops.
We did 2 miles today, because I could see she was starting to get too hot. This means more evening runs, my favorite!

I'm back at this after a very long break! Tonight is week 3, day 3. I just got an actual app for it for the start of week 3 and I like it so much better than trying to time myself. I use the C25K app that is something like $2 and has a blue/green logo. She tells me when I'm halfway and does some encouragement, which I like.

I have a 5k with my SIL on July 11 so I think I'll be finishing this at the event...wish me luck with that!

So far I've been feeling pretty good, and I just started myfitnesspal again yesterday so I keep telling myself that the combo of watching my food and sticking to the program will make my runs that much easier because I'll also drop some of my weight, too. I got really motivated this weekend when I realized how out of whack my eating has been and that I'll keep feeling like I'm going to die while I run unless I start doing both. Hopefully I prove myself right!

I got so spoiled, running when it was cooler. Now that it's like 80+ and humid, I'm miserable out there. I'm still on whatever week the 5 minute runs are, though. Five minutes takes hours!

I'm kind of dreading that. I think Week 4 has some 5 minute jogs and week 5 has more. I'm struggling with the 3 minute jogs now. I did find a nice wooded park with a trail to run in, though, so hopefully that will be a little cooler than on the side of the street...it is hot and humid today, though, yuck.
