I was really enjoying running outside these past 2 weeks and was actually excited to do this mornings workout, but I woke up to snow! I'll just wait until tomorrow and hopefully the weather will have cleared up.

Gaia - OY Same here! The weather the past 2 weeks in Chicago has really been yucky for outdoor running, and I'm such a crab about having to use the treadmill. Here's hoping for better weather soon!!!
Matty - Congrats!! Keep it up!! :)

thanks epocporganic.
yes i agree with the sentiment zaquette!
i started W2 Sunday morning. it was the first warm day of spring here, so that was a change. i hate hot temps, so im not looking forward to running in the summer. hopefully ill be in better shape and it wont bother me as much, but being hot sucks.
W2 is a nice step up. running for 90 seconds is definitely a bit tougher than 60. still going well though.

It's 90 here. But I managed to suck it up and start week 4. This is good. Normally I'd just hide away in the ac. Yay couch to 5k. :)

I did week one, day one today and I really liked it. I paid $3 for the app, so that's how I know I'll stick with it.

I am literally about to get off my couch and start RIGHT NOW.
I tried it before and cheated a bunch. I tried just going by my watch, but I never really DID it. I did run a 5k at the end and sucked at it.
But THIS TIME I downloaded an app. You can play music and a nice lady's (or dude's if you want) voice tells you when to run and when to walk and when to warm up / warm down and tells you little inspirational things. It's the perfect mix of accountability and motivation.
HUZZAH. I'm OUT.

I WON.
It was kind of brutal, but at the end I was expecting one more bout of running and I psyched myself up for it... but then got the reward of a cool down. I feel good about this.

HUZZAH. I'm OUT. Is this the paid app? I have the C25K lite on android, but it just dings at me. It would totally be worth paying for someone to tell me what to do; I get confused with the cool down bits. also, WTG on getting through it this morning!

It's this one: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/couch-to ... 94823?mt=8There are several, and most of them are 2.99. Some include GPS, but this one doesn't. I didn't feel like I needed it. It kind of came down to the one I liked most design-wise. And yes, it talks to you. Male or female. Tells you what to do, tells you when you're halfway through the workout. I recommend it.

Thanks for the heads up on the apps. I'm guessing android people don't love running as much as apple people since there was only a handful of apps available. Runkeeper looks pretty great though.

Well since I forgot I even started this thread, obviously I haven't done it. So proud of you that are and I haven't given up the idea, but I need to get out of my lazy mode.

I would try week 2 for 1 run and if you really feel you're not there yet you can always switch back to week 1! I downloaded podcasts in which the person also tells me when to run or walk.
