hi! i'm wondering how many xgfx folks can tolerate oats. if you are super sensitive, then please answer the questions presuming the oats are designated xgfx.
thanks!

My doc said no to the oats (I did test extremely sensitive to the oats themselves so doesn't matter whether gf or not). I didn't answer the celiac/some other issue because I'm not quite sure. I tested extremely sensitive to gluten in a test other than the classic celiac test, but had all the celiac symptoms. My doc said since I had to be treated like I have it anyway, there was no reason to do the expensive test.

I said no to oats. Sometimes they're okay, sometimes I'm in the bathroom for a day and a half... I have Celiac. So do both my sisters and my cousin, interestingly enough.
I'm curious to see/read the results of your research!

me, too. we shall see! i'm working on a xgfx zine, and as you know i like to use oat flour a bunch. i don't' want to make everyone sad or produce something that won't help many people. but oats...they make things right for me. so i'm wondering how many other folks out there are like me, too. xo kittee

I really want to try some different brands of gluten-free oats to see if I can tolerate them, but my digestion is messed up right now as it is, so I'm going to wait until I'm not pregnant anymore. Your cupcakes with oat flour look so wonderfully normal!

my son and my hubby are both celiac, and they are fine with oats (as long as we buy the certified gf ones, of course). i think my baking would suffer without oats and oat flour! they make everything turn out good for me.

Agh, damnit. I didn't see you said the oats were GF.
I'm fine with 100% gf oats in moderation. It's regular ol' store brand that kills me.

According to my doc, I don't have celiac, but I have all the symptoms. I don't know what to make of that, but I love oats. And fortunately, they seem to love me back as long as I don't have them every single day.
