Does anyone know of a good pre-made loaf of bread that I can get in a health food store or Whole Foods? I want to make Hagelslag this weekend. Thanks!

well that depends. what the fizzle is hagelslag? do you want dense as a brick (food for life rice bread; check the freezer section) or light and fluffy with no substance (Ener-G GF bread; vacuum sealed, probably on the shelf with other GF stuff).

Hagelslag is a Dutch thing, a slice of toasted or not bread with either jam or butter and sprinkles on top. Lots of them. It sounds amazing. I might try the Ener -G but it was in the frozen section and I'm not sure if that's going to taste odd after being defrosted. I'll go to the HFS to find it on a shelf. It sounds PERFECT though.

yup, frozen bread tends to taste weird after defrosting, especially the older ones

Canyon Bakery. Its at Whole Foods...its made here in Colorado, so I hope you can find it--its the best Ive ever had--just like regular bread!

I use EnerG tapioca bread for my occasional toast craving. It works out ok.
