Just came across this article on a bit of research that suggests a causal link between celiac/IBS and glyphosate, which is the active ingredient in Roundup, an herbicide. The study itself is linked from the article below.

Anyone hear of this? I'd be curious to hear opinions of the research from the scientists/nutritionists out there. If this turned out to be the case, I wonder if eating organic would make a difference? I only read the introduction of the paper.

When I googled this it was mostly anti-GMO sites talking about it (unsurprisingly). One of the authors, Stephanie Seneff seems to have quite a relationship with the Weston A Price Foundation (http://people.csail.mit.edu/seneff/) and a dodgy sounding list of papers ("Nutrition and Alzheimer's Disease: The Detrimental Role of a High Carbohydrate Diet," "Might cholesterol sulfate deficiency contribute to the development of autistic spectrum disorder?," "How Statins Really Work Explains Why They Don't Really Work," etc).

Then I found this - http://www.examiner.com/article/bogus-p ... e-internet
It's bullshiitake. Funny that both articles were on the Examiner.
