veg, tulasi & tahini noodles wild plum stir-fry recipes: wild plum stir-frycumin seed oil finely shredded ginger (opt. + garlic) leeks sliced carrots and bell pepper sliced plums tulasi white vinegar (i used white balsamic) soy sauce temper the cumin seeds in a bit of oil, turn up the heat and add all of the veggies. sautee! the plums should sort of dissolve when it's ready. add tulasi, vinegar and soy sauce at the end. i was thinking that marinated tempeh would make a nice addition. tonight i made this and added shiitake mushrooms, which was So Nice. (the other dish, um, i don't remember! but i bet it had a lot of garic and oregano and tulasi mixed in with the veg.)

The colors are intensely beautiful.

Thanks for all the positive comments everybody! Cooking by color is one of my favorite things to do. :)
Tulasi is tulsi, i.e. Indian basil / purple basil / thai basil / etc. It's a relative of the Italian basil we all know, but has leaves which are purple on the underside. Full purple thai basil or, well, even Italian basil, could also be nice. It can be hard to find fresh (I have a plant) but I know theres a company called Organic India which sells loose tulasi tea in the US and that's fine for cooking, too.
