Thank you! They took me a total of 8 hours, so definitely a labor of love. Hand-piping all those details was intense!

I resized pictures found online, cut them out (with a 'buffer' around them to give space to decorate and also rounding in an effort to avoid breakable appendages) then placed them on the cookie dough and cut around them with a paring knife. Tedious, but simple!

Haha, it's funny how often I hear that, and how many people ask if it's hard to cut (or watch someone else cut) a wedding or sculpted cake I spent hours and hours on. I guess I'm crazy, because I really enjoy the ephemeral nature of edible art. Sometimes it is hard to put so much work and love (and sometimes tears) into the things I make, only to watch them be destroyed in a few short seconds. But I kind of like knowing that it's temporary. If the things I made lasted forever, then I would have a chance to get tired of them, but I know that once I finish something and send it off, I'll never see it again. The effort has been purged from me, and I get to start on something new.

I'm really weird, I know.

That is incredible. I could never put in the time and effort to do that. And if I did, convincing myself to eat them would be a struggle.
