My kiddo turned 6 on 10/26 and her birthday party was yesterday at the local kid's museum. Here's the cake(s)! My first shape pan cake! Red velvet cupcakes! Chocolate cupcakes! (unvegan sprinkles - they were in the cupboard and I figured plain chocolate was kinda dull for 5 and 6 year olds) Oh and here's her cake from her actual birthday. The ones from the party were all VCTOTW recipes but I lazied out for the chocolate frosting and just added cocoa powder to leftover vanilla frosting. The actual birthday party cake was the wilton yellow cake recipe with applesauce for the eggs. Both cakes were better the next day. Also, cake flour people. It's totally worth it.

Nice job decorating the pony cake! Livi and her friends must have loved it! I've never done a shaped cake before, but I'm feeling inspired to try it now.

Awesome! That's a lot of cake! (Also - totally cannot believe that Livi is already 6! Happy unbirthday girl! She has the same birthday as my sister. Great to see they both had awesomesauce days!)

That pony cake is fantastic. I would've loved that when I was younger. Hell, I'd still love that. Happy belated birthday to your daughter, although she looks thoroughly unimpressed blowing out the candles.

Happy Birthday Livi!
I never got anything like a pony cake when I was little. (my mom always made me a cake, but it was just frosted like normal with my name on it). I learned it takes talent when I tried to do cookie monster for my son's 1st birthday, so you definitely did a great job!
