I don't know why I get so excited for Groundhog Day every year. I just don't know. But here are some cookies to celebrate the rodent of the day.

This entailed a long conversation with my mother as to what groundhogs look like. ("Do groundhogs have tails?" "No. Wait, yes. They have stubby tails. Maybe.") I think they ended up looking like weird squirrels, so here is a pic of one stalking Bill Murray to prove that it is in fact a groundhog:

they are so awesome and cute, raspberrycomplaint! groundhog's day is my spouse's birthday, so it's one of my favorite days. believe it or not he's never seen the movie, but we have it on Netflix and i think we're gonna bum around on the couch all day and we pretty much HAVE to watch it.

i wish i had gingerbread groundhogs. :D

It is a must watch today! If anyone gets the AMC channel, they're having a marathon of the movie today until 10pm.

I love groundhog day because it's a holiday no one celebrates. It's wacky and off the wall and fun to make a big deal about it, although I have yet to actually throw a groundhog day party. I really wanted to this year, since it was on a Saturday, but life was too busy.
