Was so excited to try this! Found it at Whole Foods today at about 3pm and needed to make something with it for dinner... decided nachos would be easiest to throw together! It really looks chickeny and sort of peels into layers realistically but when you cut it into cubes it looks less chickeny and more tofu-y. I was a little creeped out at first by the texture, I thought it was pretty chickeny feeling and tasting but hey I haven't eaten chicken in 20 years so I'm not a very good judge.

I almost bought Beyond Meet last week! I was so excited to see it in the store, but then I read the ingredients and it has amaranth, which I'm pretty sure I can't eat. How did it taste? Did you like it?

It was "southwest style" so it was a little bit like taco seasoned I guess. Mild. And a little chickeny, I think but I really have no idea anymore what chicken tastes like! I would definitely get it again though and try it out in recipes! The other 2 varieties they had were "grilled" (plain?) and "lightly seasoned".
I was thrilled it doesn't have gluten! I miss boca chicken so badly and this might be able to take its place.

I tried the Beyond Meat buffalo chicken strips from Whole Foods a couple of months ago. They were really good! I put them on nachos and on salad. I can't compare the texture, it's been over 20 years since I've had meat, but my hubby who eats omni a couple of times a year loved them too.

Were they in the deli or the refrigerated section?

Also, wasn't one of the things about Beyond Meat that it was going to be comparably priced or less than meat? It was $5.79 or $5.99 (I can't recall exactly) for 12 oz, which is definitely not comparable to chicken. Can't you get chicken for like $2-3/lb? Maybe the price will come down over time?

Looks perfect! I really liked the Beyond Meat strips buffalo-style from my WF prepared foods section. Have yet to try the retail packs.

Yeah, they were all "oh, it's gonna be cheap!" and now it's really not. I still want to try it though! It looks good!

My Whole Foods (Nashville, TN) has it! I bought the last one from the freezer today. I didn't buy anything to cook with it though. I'm thinking fajitas next weekish.
