Your shortbread cookies look so perfectly slightly crumbly and very melt-in-your-mouth delicious!

Beautiful ! I'm adding both of these to my Christmas baking list.

My entire family loves Mihl's Spekulatius Waffles (also on her blog). They are the perfect blend of spice and crisp waffle. Wish I had time to make some this morning....but that'll have to wait until the weekend.

I'm so heading over to your blog right now! Too bad I won't be able to bake any cookies this year as am still in Japan and will only return to Germany few days before Christmas. Your cookies make me miss pre-Chrismas cookie baking even more!

Thank you! I think I am going to make them this weekend, too.

If you weren't in Japan I'd make you some cookies and you could cook me a Japanese meal in return!

The only thing stopping me from making spekulatius now is the funky windmill cookie cutters that are what make the cookie! I may just have to get over it!

For German Spekulatius wooden molds are used. They are pretty but super expensive. (Compared to regular cutters.) I still want to get some one day to make "authentic" cookies.
