dough recipe is based off my grandmother's (which was handed down from her mother-in-law and on and on...). Real simple: just flour, salt, water, and one egg replacer "egg" per cup of flour.

I do sauerkraut and mushroom sometimes. My great-grandparents were farmers, and my great gram would stuff them with whatever was in season. Lots of fruity dessert ones, too.

I've never had pierogi in my life, but this has just made me realise that I am missing out. I'm going to have to get some o dat sour cream before I make them though, that just seems like the done thing to me now.

I have made pierogi pizza! It's topped with mashed potatoes, onions, and cheese. My school sometimes served it on pizza Fridays, too. Growing up in an area thick with eastern bloc roots has its advantages.
