I obviously fail at living in LA as I have not eaten any of the delicious looking food in your pictures.

You have got to try the fried chicken at Doomies. And Crossroads is fantastic! I wish so bad we had a place like that here.

I ate that Doomie's chicken once and it totally freaked me out! It was so realistic. My omnivore mom tried it and said she wouldn't have been able to tell the difference if it was presented to her as real chicken. It was delicious, but just a weird experience.

Yeah, I have never had anything like it (besides non-vegan fried chicken)

What's the chicken made from? We've been experimenting with thick batters and deep frying.

I have no idea but my friends theorized that outside of the chicken their is a layer of gravy before the layer of skin because when you bite into it, it oozes out and adds that juiciness that mock meats all miss. I think that was the key. I bet you could call them! They were so nice.

I want to go to LA by myself. I always end up visiting the same omni-safe places, haha.

Looks like you had a really nice food experience!

Holy hell is right!

Really, thanks for sharing. It's so cool to see that so many people are passionate enough about being vegan that they create these amazing foods and work hard to build a business sharing it with others.

All of this looks mouthwatering but I have to ask..is that a tiny lasagna pan or a giant spoon?

Of all the beautiful food you posted, I'm really fixated on that beautifully blackened ear of corn right now! But I'm also pretty excited by the tiny paella and lasagna.

You inspired me to go to Doomies. The fried chicken actually freaked me out a bit. I know it's not meat, but what IS it?
