Thanks! Indian food is by far my favorite to cook; so fun to play around with spices. Need to learn to make Indian desserts next.

Yes. Do this. I require vegan Indian dessert recipes. I miss picking up the oddly colourful little blobs of sugar when I bought samosas.

Thanks everyone! Here's mango lassi, a baby step towards the Indian sweets department :P

I really want to go to an Indian grocery store and get all the cool legumes and ingredients that nobody else carries, but I'm worried the recipes will become too inaccessible then. Been trying to stick with things that most major stores carry, to try and say, "Hey! You are surrounded by vegan options! You don't need any weird, rare ingredients!"

I think every once in a while you can get some lesser used legume recipes up there, because then your focus is still on the accesable, but you actually get closer to your goal of getting all the recipes worldwide up there rather than just those you can cook from your local grocery. For people who want to try them they can probably arrange an exchange with someone else who lives near an indian store if ordering legumes online turns out to be way more expensive than from an indian grocery or something.

Was in NY all month, and didn't get any cooking done. Now back with a vengeance, Thai mango curry-style!

Wow! All your food looks amazing! Your blog looks great too. I love Indian food and the pic of the Khichdi is really calling my name. I looked at your recipe and am so pleased to realize I already have all the ingredients. Definitely going to try it out.

Thanks :) Lemme know how you like the khichdi! I think I've discovered my new favorite soup: sweet potato and cauliflower, with ginger, garam masala, and paprika.

So I made the khichdi on Friday. It was really easy to make and made ALOT. Easily makes 4-6 good sized portions. I used green lentils instead of the split peas and it turned out really well. Both me and my husband really enjoyed it. Thanks for the recipe.

Glad you guys liked the khichdi and sesame soba! :)
I moved to Okinawa recently, and it's taking me a bit to adjust to the new grocery stores/set up my kitchen. Hope to have a new recipe this weekend, very likely something Japanese.

I tried the tofu tikki masala the other day and it was so good! I look forward to seeing what your new recipe will be.

Good luck getting settled in!

I've been making a bunch of tofu tikka masala lately :) Okinawa seriously lacks in the vegan food department, but fresh handmade tofu is amazing!

Hiyashi somen--chilled noodles topped with ginger and scallions, and served with a sweet dipping sauce. Super simple, and takes just a few minutes to make, but blissfully refreshing during a hot summer :)

Yay :) I really recommend the curried carrot soup, too; it's easily one of my top 3 favorite recipes. But then again I'm a coconut milk addict.

Just bookmarked and pinned several of your recipes! The first one I'm going to make is the Sweet Potato and Cauliflower Soup. I don't have garam masala, but I do have "Vietnamese Sweet Lemon Curry" (ingredients: sugar, turmeric, lemongrass, cumin, black pepper, paprika, salt, coriander, garlic, cardamom, and spices). The video really helps. Sometimes recipes look daunting, but then the video breaks it down and it looks so easy! Thank you Chef Dante!

That sounds like a really yummy substitute for garam masala! Lemme know how it tastes :) Just ordered a new tripod, so should be back to making videos soon, glad you find them helpful!
