this was super yummy; seemed like an elegant meal but was very easy to pull together I subbed asparagas for mushrooms cause that is what I had; and I've decided that shallots are the key to happiness from the Candle Cafe cookbook I am really liking all the recipes I have tried so far. Anyone else have it? recs?

That looks tasty. I was just thinking last night that the world needs more tempeh dishes.

That looks really really good. As far as recommendations, I think all I've made from that book are two other tempeh dishes- the cornmeal-crusted tempeh, and the tempeh burgers with grilled pineapple; they were both awesome!

Wow, that looks great....I want to try that recipe! I always eat tempeh, and need new things to do to it!

Yum! i have the book, but now that i live so far from a health food store and am on a restricted budget, i don't use it as much. i do love the chutneys and ketchup.

they go crazy for miso and brown rice vinegar in that book. i don't normally purchase either, but it's a worthy investment for many of their recipes. i think there was a miso-ginger-brown rice vinegar dressing that i put on everything for about two months.
i also used to find different kinds of brown rice vinegars, which were fun to try out.
nice pic!
