I am going to a get together with a bunch of women I have never met in person and want to bring something fantastic, but simple. I generally tweak one of the cupcake recipes to suit my taste that day but I have never tried these Dulce cupcakes. I don't want to do the caramel and such, just the cake itself.
Is it a weird texture at all or is it comparable to say, the vanilla ones. I want a rich, awesome dessert to share with all the non-veg people and make them swoon as usual.

A very non-veg friend of mine was psyched when I made these for her. She ate 3 right away.

I made them and didn't make the caramel stuff. I also added a little butter faux flavor in place of 1/3 of the vanilla extract called for. Also added the seeds from half a vanilla bean pod.

They are so yummmmm!

I made them with the caramel. The caramel itself was really sticky and messy, but I didn't mind that. It was yummy. But I think the cake itself would be excellent without it as well. It had a really delicious flavor that was much more interesting than a vanilla cupcake.
