I borrowed this cookbook from the library and I had a chance to write down all the recipes I liked but I realized after I turned it in that I forgot the Chickpeas and Dumplings recipe and I really wanted to make it for dinner soon!! I dont have time to run to the book store and then theres always the chance that they wont have it so if anyone owns the cook book and wouldnt mind typing the recipe up for me that would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you so much :)
Also what do you guys think of this cookbook? I cant decide if Im even going to buy it because Im big into calories and whenever i calculate the recipes calorie counts its totally different than hers. Who knows though. Just wondering your thoughts!

I am just going to head this off at the pass and say that everyone is free to give their opinion on the book, but let's try to keep all of the crepe with the author and anything in the last thread out of it, seeing how that got us slandered.
Enjoy!

My understanding is that for things like french toast, she didn't count the bread because the calorie count can vary. You can find the recipe on Amazon.com by using their "Look inside" feature.

I think I saw the recipe on pp120. Try signing into Amazon- they expand your preview "rights" if you are signed in.

That stinks! I saw the recipe when I checked. I know that some people here have the book. Nick (I think) tested for it. You could try searching for "happy herbivore" and find the first thread about the book and PM some of the people who have it. Is the recipe on her blog? (Full disclosure- I have never read her blog and have never seen her book.

Hopefully this is ok to post since it is publicly available using the Amazon feature. It sounds good--I'm going to try it too.

Wow, I'd never even heard of the book but that sounds delicious! Might have to add it to next week's menu...

I would also like to point out that for pretty much every recipe in that book, a simple google search will get you a similar recipe. This was the top result for 'vegan chickpeas and dumplings': http://peasandthankyou.com/2011/06/07/v ... dumplings/You can just not use oil and tada, pretty much the same thing without searching through amazon.
