Review and recipe shared here:

Of note, this is way more than oatmeals. Just ignore the title. Lots of fun ways to incorporate my favourite grain. :)

OH MY GOD. that recipe is SICK! I saw it and knew it was worth stopping my day to make. Savory granola, holy crepe is this stuff amazing.
(I knew i was going to go nuts about it, so I tweaked it to be no oil, more flax, and used cornflakes for crunch, only a tiny bit of cashews. it's high fiber, big taste, almost no fat.)
thank you SO MUCH for sharing!

Not the best slang to choose for describing how nice an oatmeal recipe is :)

I'm still working on her wonderful bean book.

If she can help me find new ways to make oatmeal that would just rock!

Saveur, thank you for starting this thread. I hadn't heard of this book until I read your post.

I've made 2 recipes so far and both were fabulous:

Coconut Oat Vanilla Creamer
http://pastrychefonline.com/2014/07/28/ ... -giveaway/

Mushroom Ginger Congee
http://healthyslowcooking.com/2014/07/2 ... ee-recipe/

The creamer needs a good stir in the cup but the flavour is wonderful.

The congee was a pleasant surprise. I honestly didn't think that an oatmeal congee would have the wonderful stomach comforting goodness that a rice congee does, but this is a solid recipe.

Next to try:

Steel-Cut Oat Sausage Crumbles
http://vedgedout.com/2014/07/28/kathy-h ... -giveaway/

Oat-Chata
http://healthyslowcooking.com/2014/08/0 ... -giveaway/

Hope that this book comes out on KINDLE !

Nice blog post. The book looks great which worries me as I don't need more cookbooks!

Bob's Red Mill was having a steel cut oats recipe contest that ended tonight. I just got my entry in under the the wire. It is an oat based cheeze spread, I'm waiting for them to ok it before it displays. It took a few tries to get it right, but it is mighty tasty. I'll have to post about it soon! You can check out all the recipe submissions (many can be veganized) for some other great ideas on the their facebook page. Look for the recipe contest, I think it says Spurtle in the name.

I just ordered this one as well. I've been using her slow-cooker for 1 or 2 book and have found that there are some good ideas for making food prep easy for days when you don't have time to cook. I love oatmeal and oats, the savory granola sounds fab!

FYI to all who have ordered or plan to, the author has a special promotion where if you are the first 100 to send her proof of purchase she will send a box of goodies that can be used to make some of the recipes. You can read more here:
