I was about to make the Boston Cream cake Pie and just wanted to make sure the flour/milk ratio is right. It says 1/2 cup of flour + 1 T cornstarch to 3/4 milk. Is this right? I just wanted to double check before making it.

I would hold off until Terry or Isa can chime in. That's not the ratio the testers were given, but I'm not sure if they made modifications before printing.

Okay, thanks. I thought about chancing it, but I looked over several cake recipes and none had more milk than flour. Occasionally if there was a thicker 'liquid" (like yogurt) the measurements would be closer to equal, but never even equal for straight milk.
I've given up on my dream of Boston Cream Cake Pie for now...I missed my opportunity to bake and don't know when I'll get another chance...if I'm lucky tomorrow, but otherwise not until at least the weekend.

Wow, yeah, that isn't right! It should be:
Cake layer
2/3 cup all purpose flour
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup plain soy milk
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
3 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons canola oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

No no!
Please use the amount listed in the book for a lighter cake. The one posted above is an older version.
Both are fine though and will turn out okay. I just like the lighter cake printed in the book. The older version is thicker.
