I've got Isa's banana bread baking right now. The batter tasted AMAZING, but yeah, using copious amounts of maple syrup isn't going to be a frequent event for me, unless this banana bread is life-changing. Then, maple syrup will be allotted for in my monthly budget, just like rent and electricity.

Do you have a Costco membership? The only reason I can use it with abandon is because it's about 1/3 the price there.

I've been trying some of the smoothies from the breakfast chapter.

Spicy Tropical Green Smoothie - This was delicious, I was apprehensive about green smoothies. This really did just taste of the fruit.
Very Berry Smoothie - Really good, I did cut back on the amount of Medjool dates used. I'm glad, it was just sweet enough for me.
Chunky Monkey Smoothie - Oh man, this was like dessert in a glass for breakfast! So good!

I don't have a Costco membership, but I do have one for Sam's Club, so I'll have to check for it next time I'm there. Thanks for the idea!

Um, holy balls the macaroni salad is good. It's basically deli-style macaroni salad, but possibly a bit more tangy because there's more vinegar in the dressing. I was really skeptical that their tofu mayo recipe would be good in this, as I was afraid it'd be too beany, but I didn't detect any of those flavors because it's really tangy (in a pleasant way) due to the seasonings and red wine vinegar.

I could eat this stuff all day. I gave a small sample dish to my partner and when I asked him how it was, he pulled the dish close to himself and gave me this evil possessive "MINE!" look, while scarfing it down... Haha. Pretty good praise considering he's a die-hard miracle whip fan.

I was on the fence about this cookbook until I read this thread, so thanks everyone for contributing to my overgrown cookbook collection! I just got it and have flipped through some of the recipes and a lot of stuff looks and sounds really good. I'm especially excited about the dessert recipes! I'll probably cook a few things from it this week.

I made the zucchini bread again this weekend, it's my favourite! Most recipes usually have too much sugar for my tastes so this one is perfect for me. I froze half of it but I don't think it'll last that long in there!
