Thanks Bethie! I'd love to see what you do with the table of contents in your cookbooks; any chance you might do a blog post about it? :-)

exciting! i'm going to go through mine thoroughly this weekend and make a list of all the recipes i want to try.

i'm very excited about this cookbook and upcoming warm weather! if we do a themed cookbook challenge in the fall and have a *grilling* or *outdoor dining* category, this cookbook would be a shoo in!

made my first recipe from the book tonight, italian bean and orzo salad (page 129) with the roasted garlic dressing (page 176).

my hubby is wary of any dish with more than 2 kinds of beans so i just used chickpeas & red kidney beans which he appreciated. i left out the black beans and also since we didn't have any on hand i did not include the 1 cup of chopped celery. that being said, even with leaving out a couple of "salad" ingredients, sadly (in my opinion) there was not enough dressing to really properly coat, dress, and flavor the entire dish.

tomorrow i'm going to make another batch of dressing and add what is needed to the leftovers to make it, not necessarily more saucey, but just better dressed with dressing. i know that with the extra dressing, hubby and i will love it much more and i will also serve it over spinach so it is more salad like.

this is all we had for dinner (with some nice bread on the side) and it really is quite filling. and it's great that it's a cold dish, perfect for the hot days we are having. i can totally see myself making this again dish again (with a double batch of dressing even though it might not need all the dressing from the second batch).

i still look forward to trying the long list of recipes i've dog-earred to try!

Will there be a kindle version? It's such a great way to sneak illicit cookbooks into the house and past the overcrowded bookshelves.

I cracked the seal on this book finally and made two things. The Cashew Ranch Sauce was first. All I can say is num!!! I was able to serve this to a bunch of omni guests, who all gobbled it up. It's absolutely delicious. It may not be exactly like I remember Ranch dressing to be, but in my opinion it tastes even better.

Yesterday I made the Tangy Tofu Triangles. I only had the minimum amount of time to marinate the tofu (2 hours) and then I used the broil setting on my oven to cook it. I did like 15 minutes, flipped the tofu, then another 15. This was another home run. It was like a smoked paprika-y Italian tofu. Nice and tangy. Awesome draped over leftover stir fry.

The Look Inside preview on Amazon has been expanded. The Getting Started section, a few recipes and the full index are now available.

I really like being able to see the index before buying a cookbook.

I remade the ribs which I loved so much during testing. It is a bit of work but it makes loads. I froze some because they freeze perfectly and then I used the recipe for coffee ribz which is superb;

Daisy, I'm in the same city as you and I found a copy at Indigo/Chapters. They only seem to have 1 copy at a couple different stores but I managed to track one down.

I'm really looking forward to trying out some of the tofu recipes!
