I've never made a good pad thai and I've never made a good Chinese dish. I keep thinking it must be because all the recipes I try aren't calling for all the authentic ingredients or something. Or maybe I just have a knack for picking dud recipes. I haven't tried any recipes from Vegan Eats World yet. I hope I do a little better with them! I used to screw up everything stir fried until VEW! The Takeout Noodle recipe and the Pad See Ew have both been game changers in m kitchen.

Does anyone know if there is a list of recipes in Whole Grain Vegan baking? I can't order a book without seeing at least some sample recipes and a recipe listing.

Sour grapes - Book Depository still have my pre-order of Whole Grain Vegan Baking as awaiting publication, but if I click through to the listing from my order it's showing the book as currently available. Awww, firetruck, I've been really looking forward to this book's release. :(

yeah I ordered my Whole Grain Vegan Baking book along with another book that doesn't come out 'til april... so I guess I don't get the one until they're both ready. Oh well. It's not like I'm dying over here with no cookbooks to look through. It's really not like that at all.

Ouch. Barley flour and corn flour? I've never seen those anywhere. I have quite a few different flours, but those aren't any I've ever needed.
I hope the book isn't all like that. I took a risk ordering it just by author and subject.

Can't you just sub other flours, though? I appreciate the concept, but for those of us who are poor/not wheat-sensitive, is subbing a viable option?

Hopefully the book addresses that. I wouldn't know wth to sub barley flour with.

Ameyfm, Amazon is starting to ship the preorders for Whole Grain Vegan Baking. I ordered it with some other preorders last month. The status kept saying April 8-11 as the estimated delivery date - until last night, when it was shipped. It's supposed to arrive tomorrow - yay! The way they handle preorders makes me crazy, but the prices are better, so I guess I'll keep doing it.

Perhaps when one of these upcoming cookbooks actually comes out, start a new thread instead of writing in here? That way, it'll be easier to find.

This - Vegan Desserts in Jars? http://www.amazon.com/Vegan-Desserts-Ja ... 1612432255The first line of the description bamboozles me "The appeal of a miniature cake, cobbler, or crumble baked and served in an adorable jar is no mystery." It's a mystery to me, is this an American thing? I've seen individual desserts before now, nothing new there, but in jars? It's going on my long list for now, especially since the description talks about storing them. It's hard finding single portion desserts, since it's just em eating them I either have to toss the rest or eat it every day till it's finished. A single portion dessert would be excellent.

There's also a company in Seattle called hot cakes that sells molten cakes in jars that you bake.

Looks like verrines to me, except they use jars instead of glasses and verrines are not always desserts. So it may have more of a French influence.

But if they are in jars how are you meant to lick them clean when you are done?
