ooh awesome. those cookies look so good. You made the recipe, right? How many cookies did it actually make? I'm suspicious of a recipe that calls for 3.5 cups of flour making only 24 cookies. then again, I tend to make small cookies, so I'd probably get 50 out of that batch. They look super perfect. I will definitely try it!

Yep, I made them. I did 1/2 recipe and got 12 cookies about 4 inches across. When I was typing it up, I was laughing to myself that Doron would probably call them "small". For us, they're big and so so so good!

I'm making the cookies right now and the recipe makes a ton. I'm going to get around 50 using a standard sized cookie scoop. I would like to try making gigantic bakery sized cookies, but I need to wait until I have a bake sale to bake for or something.
They are DELICIOUS! Definitely the best chocolate chip cookies I've made. I had to make them with bread flour instead of AP and turbinado sugar instead of white, but they still came out great. I'll be buying the book for sure. Too bad it's kind of expensive.

I love giant cookies except for how eating one is like eating 3-5 regular ones. I wish I could find a recipe list for the cookbook.

Bekki, I probably won't have time today, but I'll type the recipe list in for you tomorrow.
Ashley, I agree. A half batch was perfect for us. Bake sales, here we come!

Ashley, I agree. A half batch was perfect for us. Bake sales, here we come! That's super sweet of you, but not necessary. I like recipe lists for one of two reasons; to figure out whether I want to buy the book or to have a plan of what to make first...I'm 100% sold on this one so I can wait an extra week or so to figure out what to make! Also, one day I want to get around to playing Food Network Friday; those posts are so much fun to read.

I'm looking forward to trying the recipes but I really wish for the price that it would have had more pictures.

those cookies are reeeeally good. 11 minutes with an ever so golden edge makes a ridiculously crispy cookie. (but it's really really good!!!) i'll try with 9 minutes next time and see how that turns out.
i used a 7/8 oz disher (the purple one) and got 48 cookies. i think she may have just miscalculated.

I'm super excited to try these cookies. The huge recipe is great for bringing to my last day of my internship rotation.

i used a 7/8 oz disher (the purple one) and got 48 cookies. i think she may have just miscalculated. I just imagine they're supposed to be super giant. I did a half recipe with a 1.5 oz scoop and I got 18. I think based on 24 for a full batch and 2 oz that seems right. It makes sense to me because there are few things more awesome than giant bakery cookies, I just can't have a whole batch around my house! I know this because I once made the Giangantoid Peanut Butter cookies from VWAV according using the 1/3 cup measure and they were the size of my face and it was way too easy to say "but it's just ONE cookie!" But I got this book and so far have only made these chocolate chips and the Cowvins. The first bite of the Cowvins I wondered what all the fuss was about, then I took my second bite...they are SO good. The only trend I've seen from these two recipes is that neither cookie really spreads at all so next time I will press them much flatter. I have 8 lbs of fresh strawberries so I'll probably be jumping on some strawberry recipes really soon.

I made the cupcakes from the strawberry margarita cake recipe and then the strawberry frosting (sans rum) from the strawberry daq-kiwi recipe. Both are...wow! I really needed this strawberry cake recipe a year ago when I couldn't find a suitable one for my daughter's b-day. It is so, so good. The only thing I would do is, if I were serving it to omnis throw in a few dashes of red or pink coloring because the puree makes a kind of bleh colored cake. Obviously I don't care about that for home but people are weird.
The frosting needs to be refrigerated to have a firm enough texture but it tastes like fluffy strawberry heaven. It really reminds me of the stuff my grandma used to make using some scary prepackaged ingredients, just updated and much fresher tasting.

I made them again and froze all but 1 dozen of them on sheets so I could just bake a dozen at a time. Nothing like warm chocolate chip cookies!

Now that the look inside feature for Amazon is up, I browsed through the index to make a list of the appealing recipes. There are at least two dozen, like peanut butter fudge cake, PB pie with brownie crust, and whoopie pies! I might buy it this summer when I'm working full-time again and can give all my treats away to coworkers.

My copy hasn't arrived yet, but I got impatient and made the cookies. So good! Boyfriend says they're the best chocolate chip cookies I've made (ever!). I've tried a lot of recipes, so that's high praise. I got 27 big (by my standards) cookies. I brought them to work the other day and was super excited to eat the last one today since I didn't get a lunch break, but when I got back from a meeting it was gone. And now I'm sad.
