I haven't gotten this yet, but Amazon is preparing it for shipping. For the past week, I've been making recipes on the blog which will be in Isa Does It, such as the pad thai, meaty beany chili, red curry sweet potato thai soup, and rosemary chocolate chip cookies. Everything, but especially those cookies, are just what I expected from Isa- delicious and simple.

I went to a bookstore today and they have 20 copies that the guy said were "supposed to arrive ages ago" but weren't there yet. I just wanted to look at it!

I've finished flipping through the book and I'm really looking forward to diving in. First up will be the coconut chana saag because I have some kale on hand.

I love that some of my favourites from the website were included, like the marbled banana bread and cast-iron stir-fry. I also spotted a nice selection of tempeh recipes, which are always welcome.

The index looks great, by the way!

And, Isa, I want to know more about The Breadbowl Incident.

I think mine is here! There was a missed shipping notice thing from the post office in my mailbox yesterday. Must be a substitute mail carrier, because mine usually leaves amazon packages in the foyer. Also, they'd written the wrong address on the slip...so maybe it isn't it at all? Going to the post office after work to find out for sure!

Just got it, and am looking forward to sitting down and 'disappearing' into all the brilliance.
It's larger than I thought it would be, beautifully laid out and the photographs are all drool worthy.
Many thanks!

Can anyone give me a head's up on how xgfx friendly the recipes are? I'm probably going to order it at some point no matter what. Just wondering if I'll be able to sub and make a good bulk of the recipes. AFR is really easy but that doesn't have a breakfast/brunch, and desserts section. Which is what intrigues me the most!

Off the top of my head I remember it being very gf friendly. There are some breads and bundt cakes and stuff that might be tricky, but there are also scramble recipes and oat bars and stuff that are already totally or mostly gf.

I got it! I didn't test enough recipes to get a book but I am looking for the recipes I have done.

Potato-leek soup - I tested this and I think we thought it was too potatoey but I don't think I had potato leek soup before. It was good but I think I would've added more leeks, less potatoes. A lot of people seemed to love it as is though.

Kale salad with butternut squash & lentils - Love it, highly recommend it. I know some people weren't a fan but this was one of the best tasting things I've made.

Coconut Chana Saag - Delicious, just make it.

Good Gravy Bowl - I'm not even a fan of gravy but I'm a fan of this.

Sweet potato Gnocchi - Time consuming but worth it. Also just fairly fun to do.

Simmered Seitan - I really liked this seitan recipe. I would highly recommend it.

Scrambled Chickpeas - Delicious and fun alternative to tofu.

Cheddary Broccoli Soup - Really good, highly recommended.

Tempeh Giardano - Highly recommended

Chicky Tuna Salad - I've made this many times, one of my favorite sandwich filling recipes.

Meaty Beany Chili - A good solid chili. I have my own recipe but this is a good one.

Harira - I feel bad because I looked at my tester comments and my husband loved this probably more than anything I've ever made and I haven't made this again. I will need to put it on the list for the next couple weeks.

That is all my notes. Basically, I really liked everything I tested. The potato-leek soup was the only one I wasn't sure about. There appear to be 2 recipes I tested but don't seem to have made it in the book? Not a big omission though :)

YES. Pick up a jar of mango chutney on the side and prepare to have your mind blown.

This made me go through my tester notes to make a similar list, but I tested a lot and I'm afraid my list would be stupidly long. I'm going to try to make a list of my top of the top life changing recipes to post here!
