I am going to be researching to do my column about raw foods. I always like to recommend some good books for my readers. I also like to try those books out. I'm looking to you PPK experts to guide me. What books do you recommend for:

Best Recipes
Easy
Good information on raw health benefits?

I already have Ani's 15 Day Fat Blast by Ani Phyo and The Complete Book of Raw Food. I am hoping to find some WOW factor books/recipes.

Thanks in advance for your brilliance :)

Out of the books I have, I think Renee Loux Underkoffler's Living Cuisine is the best all around for newbies. There's a lot of good information and her recipes are tasty and not too crazy on the preparation.

Matthew Kenney's Everyday Raw has delicious recipes that are not too involved, but no background info. Just recipes.

Jennifer Cornbleet's raw cookbook (forget the name) is really good for super super newbies. Very simple and reliable recipes. Not too inventive though and not a whole lot of background info.

Raw Food Real World has delicious recipes but they are complex and call for crazy ingredients. Same with Charlie Trotter's Raw, although I think Raw Food Real World is slightly closer to reality.

I am a minority here, I think, but I don't like Ani Phyo's recipes except her raw donut holes. Her soups are like a bowl of oil. Ick.

Also not really a fan of Juliano's Raw. Too complicated for what you get.

I don't have a go-to raw cookbook. I actually prefer blogs (Choosing Raw is one of my favourites).

If I had to recommend a few, I'd suggest Practically Raw, McNish's cookbook as well as awesomely Vegan.

I like The Raw Food Revolution Diet by Cherie Soria. It has a good introductory section with ingredient and equipment info, sample menus and nutritional info. The recipes are generally easy and there are plenty that don't require a dehydrator. I make juices, smoothies and salad dressing from this book frequently...there's a broccoli/tahini spread I really like (I would look up the recipes, but I have a purring cat on my lap and can't get the book).

I also like Amber Shea's book, I think that is the Practically Raw book mentioned by Saveur.

Going Raw - Juditha Wignail is nice! Basics and some really easy stuff for those on the go.

Fantastic! Thanks for all of your suggestions. I want to see about giving away a free copy on my blog next month after my column comes out, so I want to make sure I pick a good one.
