I'm excited! Teff Love: Adventures in Vegan Ethiopian Cooking should be available late summer/early fall! Not enough exclamation marks! The book is really all gluten-free, but I included a seitan/gluten recipe for folks who are soy-free so they wouldn't be left out. And that's not to mean the book is chock full of soy, cuz it's really mostly legumes and vegetables.

I tried hard to make the recipes as grocery store friendly as possible, with that being said, there are no specific recipes that call for Soy Curls. There are a few recipes where you could use Soy Curls if you wanted to. One is a shiro recipe that calls for your favorite vegan meat, and another is a customizable Kulet (spicy berbere based wot). There's also a recipe for Awaze Tibs where you could use Soy Curls instead of gluten.

I mostly stayed away from veganizing traditional meat recipes. As I was developing recipes, I didn't like the way they were coming out with vegan meats. Instead, I came up with several protein based dumpling recipes, which I like much better in wot.

I am so looking forward to your book, Kittee. I love Ethiopian food but have never made it.

All of Karen Solomon's Asian Pickles ebooks are being compiled into a hardcover in June. I would estimate it's about 90% vegan? A handful of the recipes use anchovy paste, which can probably be swapped for umeboshi paste.

A friend and I have a resolution to explore pickling this summer so I'm excited.

I'd pre-ordered Salad Samurai, scheduled for release June 17th.
Just got an e-mail saying it would arrive earlier than expected from Amazon (June 6th)... Yay!
(I hope they're telling me the truth!)

I received the same email, which is so great because Amazon had previously said delivery was pushed back to July. Yay!! Really looking forward to this one!

I also pre-ordered Terry's book. I wouldn't buy a salad book from anyone other than Isa or Terry, so hopefully it lives up to expectations. I eat more salads during the summer when we're getting lots of surprise veggies from our CSA.

no problem. to me it just seemed weird that she had two books coming out in a span of two weeks, and then i checked hot vegan it it sounded familiar.

That's really weird! Nothing against Robin (she is SUPER NICE) but I'm not loving all these cookbook re-releases.

I think many people probably just don't buy books that look old unfortunately. :(

But Vegan Fire and Spice really isn't old. It came out in 2008.

it could be ISBN changes (some of Bryanna's Grogan Clarks are being reprinted/reissued)

I can't recall if this book has been mentioned here before.

Easy Affordable Raw: How to Go Raw on $10 a Day by Lisa Viger comes out August 15. If the recipes really are both easy and affordable, I might go for it.

I see there's a new version of Robin's Nut Butter Universe coming out too.

Is this a revised version?

It's not available yet on amazon but if you type in "teff l" it now suggests "teff love" as an autocomplete - exciting! Eee!

On Amazon the blurb says theres a new publisher and a few new recipes, so at least theres a warning to people who already own Vegan Fire and Spice. Now if only I could still digest "fire"....

Part of the recipes in Vegan Fire and Spice use spices that are aromatic rather than hot (the author explains that in her introduction I think), so I wouldn't be concerned about "fire"... The level of spiciness is indicated for every recipe.
