Has anyone taken a look at this new cookbook by Amy Chaplin? I read that most of the recipes are vegan.

Ha, I have this in my Amazon cart right now, but am still debating. It's pretty! Most of the cheese seems to be in salad recipes, so I guess it's easy enough to just leave that out, but I'm not sure if the baked goods are vegan or eggy.

I looked through the index and there are a lot of good-looking soups and stews, so it's tempting because it's getting cold here.

First of all, hello everyone! I'm been a long time lurker but decided it was time to get involved :)

I just bought this cookbook impulsively, but am actually really impressed with it. I would say over 90% of the recipes are vegan. I don't have it on me, but I'll check when I get home to see about the egg issue in the baked goods. It is a pretty huge book with nice photography. There are a lot of good looking recipes....

Amy - It looks like almost all of the baked good are vegan. I saw one that called for ghee. I don't see eggs in any of the recipes. Some of the baked goods call for ground flax seeds but most just use coconut oil. Only a few call for cheese as a garnish, so it seems very vegan friendly.

I just got this cookbook and I'm crazy about it! It's definitely 90% vegan, and of those 10% most are very easily veganizable. I love her general approach to food. Haven't tried any recipes yet but I've tried plenty on her blog (Formerly Coconut & Quinoa, now amychaplin.com). I don't expect any less from the former head chef of Angelica's Kitchen though.

I just got this book and it is beautiful. Last night I made the vanilla chia pudding and it is yummy. It has a nice intense vanilla flavor because she has you use vanilla beans and extract, plus you leave the vanilla bean pod in the pudding till you are ready to serve (then it can be removed). I was pleasantly surprised with how much a difference that made!

Has anyone tried making her brown rice bread? It looks like my favorite kind of bread; full of cooked brown rice, nice and dense. Can't wait to make it, will be perfect for breakfast.

I really want this cookbook but I don't need another print cookbook collecting dust and taking up space on my bookshelf. Why can't they release this in a digital edition?
