I think I have a problem. I can't stop adding to my collection. Being a fairly new vegan (since May - 2010), I'm just learning and I have quite the collection (started collecting last November when I became vegetarian - knew I wanted to become vegan).
I have the following:
Quiet a few raw books - but I have enough of those VWAV The Kind Diet The Conscious Cook veganomican't Appetite for Reduction Vegan Cupcakes Take over the world Vegan Cookies take over your cookie jar Vegan Table Color Me Vegan Viva Vegan 1000 Vegan Recipes Joy of Vegan Baking ED&BV Viva La Vegan The Everyday Vegan Clean Start Clean Food The Urban Vegan Veggie Burgers every which way Vegan Yum Yum Skinny Bitch- Ultimate everyday cookbook Vegan Scoop Vice Cream Refresh Lick-it How to cook everything Vegetarian Real Food Daily
Gee- that was way longer than I expected.
I have some Christmas money that I got in the mail, and I'd like to get more cookbooks. I have Vegan Brunch on my list as a definite. I'm thinking about the Cookie Connoisseur.
What else would you recommend that is really good? I'm working on winning over my husband and son on as many vegan meals as I can, so I like the inspiration and lots to choose from.

That's quite a list. I'd recommend Joanna's Yellow Rose Recipes. I just got it, but so far everything I've tried has been fantastic.

Damn girl, I'm jealous of your collection! I second getting YRR, I use that one a lot. The other two I'd recommend that you don't have yet are American Vegan Kitchen and Vegan on the Cheap.
When I'm trying to decide what cookbook to get next, I like to check it out at the library first and try a few recipes to see if it's the food and cooking style I will use and enjoy. Maybe you could do that to test a few out first?
Have fun shopping!

HOLY MOLY! That's a lot of vegan cookbooks! If you get bored of any, I'll happily take them off your hands :) I'm a newish vegan too (April '10) and thought I had quite a few- Vcon, VWAV, La Dolce Vegan, HIAV, VCTOTW, VCIYCJ.
So, I can't actually recommend anything you don't have from experience but on my Amazon wish list which you don't have are: The Ultimate Uncheese cookbook The Asian Vegan Kitchen 500 Vegan recipes My Sweet Vegan Sweet Utopia Easy Vegan Cooking
Can I ask which of your books you recommend me to buy next!? I want more cookbooks too. I think I'm getting The Vegan Table for xmas but am thinking of buying one myself possibly App for Reduction or1000 vegan recipes? Any thoughts anyone?

I agree with Yellow Rose Recipes. Also, vegan substitutions is one of my new ones that I'm impressed with.
I was actually a little disappointed with the recipes in 30 minute vegan. I haven't tried any yet but there seemed to be a lot of recipes that called for 'vegan cheese' and similar. Its not that I don't have access to those things but I just would rather not. Also, I've given up on vegan cheese.

I love to collect cookbooks too, although if I make 3-5 recipes repeatedly from any I consider it a success. I buy a lot of used cookbooks in the vegan section of Powells Bookstore!
Pretty much anything from Bryanna Clark Grogan and Jo Stepaniak, probably because they both got me started with vegan cooking. Stepaniak's crock cheese (in a couple of her books, including 'Ultimate Uncheese') takes less than 10 minutes to make and I've yet to meet an omnivore who didn't love it, even if they say they don't like tofu.
I haven't used 'Vegan Planet' as much as I thought I would, but I've really liked most of what I've tried - especially her Black Bean & Sweet Potato Enchiladas. For holiday cooking I like 'The Voluptuous Vegan' (with the best vegan pumpkin pie ever), and 'Real Food Daily' and 'CandleLight Cafe' cookbooks are fun reads too.

I like Ripe From Around Here by Jae Steele - I need to get her first book as well. I have about 40 vegan cookbooks on my Kindle and I was making notes of recipes to try and the longest list came from Supermarket Vegan. I'm a huge fan of her Vegan Italiano book.

Since you have a lot of basics, my vote would be for some good gourmet entertaining type cookbooks. My votes (these aren't all vegan, but if I list them here they're pretty veganizable):
Millennium Cookbook / Artful Vegan Cafe Flora (my go to dinner party recipes book) Vegeterranean (the hotel this comes from in Umbria is amazing) Vegetarian Party Food by Celia Brooks Brown Voluptuous Vegan Great Chefs Cook Vegan (porn, pure and simple)

Yes, definitely get The Vegan Cookie Connoisseur! So many awesome pictures, so many great recipes.
I also second Vegan on the Cheap, Yellow Rose Recipes, 500 Vegan Recipes, aaaand... I think there was another one I was going to add but I forget what it was now.
