I made the arabian lentil and rice soup for dinner tonight. So easy! and cheap! and delicious! I added just a bit of arugula so that my meal included something green. That one is going in the Meal Jar.

I made this last night too. I also added some green (kale). Will definitely become a quick weeknight staple!

I ordered this book on Saturday but the order status still says "processing" so I hope they'll ship it soon! I've been reading some of the available pages on Amazon but I can't wait to actually have the book in my hands. The recipes sound so good and I love looking at all the tester pictures!

I just had the mole with black beans and mashed sweet potatoes and apples. If you are worried that the portions won't be filling enough (I was) try this meal it out! Both my partner and I were surprisingly stuffed and couldn't finish. And I am glad because I just had the leftovers for lunch and they were better the next day.

So if a recipe in here references another recipe (say, a salad recipe that includes a dressing) is the nutrition info for the combined package or just for the salad sans dressing?

I thought it was the combined package, but now I'm thinking it's for sans dressing. Not that it makes a huge huge difference, it just means I need to be a minor bit less lazy when typing things into the WW calculator.

Also, HELL YEAH on the portion sizes. I have yet to run across a recipe that seemed skimpy to me. Last night we had the Silky Chickpea Gravy and I was like ha ha, no way am I going to settle for 1/8th of this recipe as a serving. But it turns out 1/8th of that recipe is a SHIITAKE TON. Delicious, delicious ton.

Yes, of course they are! I say so in the book.

Last night I had tacos with Chimichurri marinated portobellos, guacamame, and a steamed plantain. I think it was my favorite meal yet, that guacamame is out of sight! I can't believe I haven't tried it until now.

I'm upset that people think it's not inclusive because that would be cheating if it weren't!

I just spent 20+ minutes on the phone with Borders while they tracked down a copy at their store. It's now waiting for me to pick up on my lunch break :).

The only thing I'm bummed about is that I already have tonight's dinner planned, so I can't start cooking from it right away.

Loving the cookbook so far. So many recipes I want to make that it was hard to pick. The testers' choices and photos helped narrow it down :) Made the Forty-Clove Chickpeas & Broccoli really late last night. I didn't take the best photo in the world but at least the smell was amazing. The story fit well with what I wanted to do -- make something while I start watching the A-List Reunion show.

Next is the Black-Eyed Peas & Greens. Nom.

I've been following the "appetite for reduction" tag on flickr (http://www.flickr.com/photos/tags/appetiteforreduction/) and hoping folks will keep posting photos!

We had this last week, and it was tastetastic!

Tonight we're having the Chipotle Lentil Burgers. I am psyched.

I'm an idiot because I asked for this for Xmas, so now I have to wait for it.

eta: If only I were Jewish, I could have it now for Hanukkah. FML.

There's still time to convert! ... But not much, because I think Hanukkah ends on Thursday!

As did I. And to make it worse, if no one gets it for me I'll have to order it online and then wait like another two weeks for it to get here. This is the most plight anyone has suffered from, ever.

I just bought a second copy today to give to my in-laws for Christmas. (They're not vegan, but they eat mostly vegetarian and way low fat, so I think they'll really dig this.)

Also, a word to the wise. You know when Isa says to use store bought bread crumbs and precooked lentils in the Chipotle-Lentil Burgers? Yeah, she's not joking. We didn't have any normal bread crumbs so we put panko in and while these were intensely delicious, they were also suuuuuper squishy and just not quite right.
