I also recommend VWAV, as well as Eat, Drink, and Be Vegan. I haven't had ED&BV for long, but any of the recipes I've tried have been great and they're quick and easy.

I think that was taking a coupon I had into account. I guess it depends on the book.

Um, as a procedural note - real brick and mortar bookstores are more expensive because of the fancy building you get to walk in. Barnes and Noble and BN.com do not sell books for the same amount because one place has a cafe and carpet and the other is a warehouse in New Jersey. I answered this question and variations on it about a million times when I was a bookstore manager.
The Borders where I worked is crazy busy. They had the best day recently in the 15 year history of the store. I am really sad for all my friends who are going to be unemployed soon, however.
Find your local independent bookstore or shop powells.com, Herbivore, Food Fight...

20% off as a clearance sale kind of seems like a joke. I get a 33% or 40% coupon every couple of days from them! I find that 33% off usually equals what Amazon is selling things for, so I almost always buy from Borders. (And we don't have any other bookstores around).

Most of the Borders around here are closing too. I haven't been to one to scope out the sales since they are kind of inconvenient for me to get to.

I got the Complete Guide to Vegan Food Substitutions and Color Me Vegan at my Borders last night. 20% off isn't that great, but I was worried that if I held out longer, they would be gone. I'll probably go back next month when everything is 70% off and see if anything else grabs me.

I went to one this weekend and was surprised at how many good things were left.
I thought it would be left-overs from other stores.
I found 8 or so vegan cookbooks - sadly, I already had them all, so I put them all together in one spot.
On a side-note. Sometimes I'll re-arrange the books so the vegan ones are in front.
Does anyone else do that or is it just me?

I got 40% off all cookbooks and books when I went to the Borders in Santa Fe! I got a bunch of awesome stuff... everything was 40-60% off!!!
i got vegan lunchbox, everyday vegan, vegan girls guide to life, vegan a go-go, veganize this, the accidental vegan, and some book on veggie burgers that wasn't 100% vegan.
they had some stuff i already had too. it was an exciting day. there was some guy there also looking at vegan cookbooks - it felt like a race to get the good stuff (except we didn't really seem to be fighting over any books, but it was fun imaging that we were)
