Loving this thread. Made the pb oatmeal cookies from VWAV again last night thanks to Kittee, so good. And that ceasar dressing from Vegan Comfort Food if crazy good. My son couldn't stop eating his salad. Salad! My son!

When I first went vegan, I started a green notebook with veggies on the cover to transcribe my favourite vegan recipes. After a while I stopped because I couldn't keep up (which is a very good sign, don't you think?!). Anyway, here's 5 of my favourites that spontaneously come to mind:
Green on Green Soup from SusanV's blog Summer Waffles from American Vegan Kitchen Loaded Baked Potato Soup also from American Vegan Kitchen the basic seitan recipe from V'con and either VwaV Pumpkin Oatmeal cookies or the PB Chocolate Pillows from VCIYCJ, I can't decide.

Man, this is tough. But if I had to pick one...
VwaV - Potato Miso Stew - I think I make it every second weekend throughout the winter. This year's cycle already started as I made my first vat of the season yesterday.
VCON - Mediterranean Lima Beans. I know....lima beans? I know. Yes.
Viva Vegan - Alfajores cookies...ZOMG.
Extraveganza: I make the Quick Lemon Tahini Noodles a TON, but my favorite recipe there is probably Paul's Thai Noodle salad with the orange ginger cookies a close second.
Vive Le Vegan: Lemon-Herb tofu - my go-to-tofu recipe and definitely the tofu entree I make the most of all.
I have other new books I'm dying to dive into...like American Vegan Kitchen!

One of my absolute favorites. I broke down and made it this summer even though stew seems kind of wrong in July. I just needed a fix, man.

I loved reading through this thread. I jotted down a lot of the recipes to try. Here's my favorites. These are the ones I make over and over again. I've included some links to pictures of them. I hope the links work... 1. Mock Chopped Liver, Vegan Deli, Jo Stepaniak. You can also find it in Vegan Vittles by the same author, but I believe there it's called Lentil Walnut Pate. This is the best mock chopped liver EVER. It fooled people at the last Passover seder. Here's a picture of it: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid= ... 10590883622. Chickpea Cutlets, Veganomicon, Isa and Terry. I prefer to make them as nuggets and serve them with a curry dip, a raspberry-chipotle sauce, and a vegan ranch dressing. Here's a picture of it: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid= ... 10590883623. Apple Cake, Vegan Italiano, Donna Klein. Most bizarre technique. Can't figure out why it works. Everyone asks for the recipe. Here it is: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid= ... 10590883624. Matzo ball soup, VWAV. Better than the real thing. The broth is to die for. I saw one guy pick up his soup bowl and drink the remains. It's that good. 5. Black bean-sweet potato tamales, Viva Vegan, Terry Romero. Best masa dough I've ever tasted, and I grew up in Los Angeles, so I've tasted a lot. Honorable mentions (sorry, can't help myself): 1. Tuna-Free Noodle Casserole, American Vegan Kitchen, Tamasin Noyes: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid= ... 10590883622. Anise Almond Poppy Seed Cookies, ExtraVeganZa, Laura Matthias, the perfect dunking cookie! http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid= ... 10590883623. Lavender-chocolate chunk cookies, ExtraVeganZa, Laura Matthias This was fun.

Add the Vcon herb scalloped potatoes to my list. I can't believe I waited so long to make them!

kittee wrote: this is a great thread! not comprehensive, but off the top of my head:
nonna's italian kitchen: breast of tofu and lemon rosemary breast of tofu. and the pesto. viva vegan--papusa dough and tamales vwav--gigantoid pb oatmeal cookies vegetarian recipes from the middle east and n. africa--spinach pies uncheese cookbook--fettucine alfonso veganomicon--smlove pie
xo kittee Thank you for recommending those spinach pies. I probably would have never made them on my own. So good, taste just like the ones I used to get in those Middle Eastern convenience stores/delis, but without the feta! Must be the sumac. Will make this in the regular rotation for sure.
