I've had this book for almost a year and have only cooked out of it twice. I feel like it needs some love. Any favorite recipes from it?

Honestly, the only thing I think I've made was the punk rock cakes. They're awesome. I made a double batch and took them to a work meeting. Everyone loved them.

I have everything to make the quiche du'jour in the next few days. It'll let you know how it goes.

I sorely neglect this one, too. Lots of things sound good, yet I never reach for it. I know I've made the tiramisu, the red jumble crumble and the beet soup. Oh, and some sort of casserole thing with cashew butter in it. Everything was good. I should try more stuff.

I like the book and use it often, especially the sauces.

My husband and I have made and LOVED the following:

Tira Mi Su, Perfected
Basil-Cream Sauce
Bechamel Sauce
Wasabi-Miso Dipping Sauce
Sweet Potato Gnocchi
Foil-Roasted Beets with Wasabi Vinaigrette
Modular Pakistani Kima

We liked the following:

Mini-Rice Croquettes with Wasabi-Miso Dipping Sauce
Fresh Pasta
Spaetzle
Red Cabbage with Caraway Seeds (We have made this with both red and green cabbage)
Six-Flour Dunkin' Bread
Pumpkin-Daal Soup

Curry Cashew Casserole is delicious (as mentioned above).
The monkey bread was also good.

I can never remember the names of recipes, but the marsala crepes are amazing. I also made some bars with coconut and chocolate chips and stuff that were delicious. Sorry for my non-helpful references!

How could I forget the Pain Perdu? It is amazing. AMAZING.

Zucchini bread (I add walnuts for my husband.)
I liked the chocolate pumpkin bread pudding, my husband not so much (but then he doesn't like pumpkin, so...understandable)

I've made a lot from this book.

I don't even like desserts but my (dairy eating) husband and I were both all over the Tiramisu.
The saltimboca looks really simple but it's much better and classier than it looks, as is the seitan with tarragon mustard sauce.
The welsh rarebit is great and very authentic, especially jazzed up with a little worcestershire sauce.
Pasta carbonara - very quick and tasty.
Portabello burritos were yum. There's lots more but I don't have my book to hand. The only thing I didn't
like was the millet and leek thing, it was too healthfoody for us.

I love love the chickpea paprikash (with sweet hungarian paprika) and the curried wheatberry spelt salad (with a bit more curry than indicated). I don't think I've made much else, but I really should

I've only tried a handful of things, but they were all lovely. Chickpea paprikash, welsh rarebit (I used a dark beer and it looked wrong but tasted just right), and garlic aioli.

I also really appreciated the instructions for making wraps. I know it's supposed to be a no-brainer food, but wraps (and good salads) aren't something I grew up eating, and I never know what to do with them.

I've made the sticky toffee pudding cake and the cranberry upside down cake. both were excellent.

The pancakes are easy and my favorite version. The Curry Cashew Casserole is really good and very easy to make.

I was not impressed with the Spicy Indian Eggplant or the Moroccan Tangine (and a little annoyed at the swipe taken at belly dancers that reflected little regard for a culture and an art).

I'm going to make the portabella mushroom burritos and raspberry pound cake this weekend, so I'll let you know what I think.

i love the sweet potato gnocchi with basil cream sauce. and i make the pancakes every week.

I made the Sloppy Joes and Def Jam Bars last night. Both turned out really well. The Sloppy Joes are kind of sweet - I like it. And the bars are super sweet, but it prob has something to to with the jam I used.

I would definitely make both again.

i keep looking at this at my bookstore and haven't been sure if i should get it. some of those recipes sound yummy, so maybe i should just go ahead and get it? those that use it how often do you turn to it?

This is one of the few cookbooks I have that I simply don't care that it doesn't have accompanying photos - the intros and recipes speak for themselves. I also really like that it's not a pandering, beginners cookbook - she throws complicated, gourmet ideas and the steps to accomplish them. It also had me picking up Soy Flour, which was new to me.

Sometimes I've made include the Carbonara, 40 Cloves Roasted Potatoes, Apple Cake, Minestrone, Muffins, Pate (I like to add more spices) Brussels Sprouts Au Gratin (so easy and so good!), Sloppy Joes and Jerk Seitan (spicy!!).

I tested for this one and thought it had lots of great recipes. Off the top of my head:

Panko Tofu with a raspberry glaze
the mushroom crepes
Carbonara
Tiramisu and loads of other stuff.

I made the Raspberry Swirl Pound Cake with Limoncello Glaze over the weekend. Unfortunately I was using a rather old oven and had no oven thermometer, so it came out a bit jacked up. But it was really delicious. I'm going to give it another try soon.

I made the apple cake, I really liked it.

Her Chocolate Chipotle Chili is my favorite chili recipe. YUM!

I find that a lot of her recipes have strange ingredients or meat/cheese replacements, which I like to avoid, so I haven't made many. The ones I have made were really good though.

Cashew curry casserole is AMAZING. I use like 3 times the amount of red curry that she recommends & put the optional red peppers & mushrooms in.

Spicy Indian eggplant was delish

Pasta E Fagioli was really easy and comfort-foody.

Chickpea cauliflower tagine was delish too.

I can't believe I forgot the aduki soup - looks foul, tastes AMAZING. MAKE it!

Spaghetti Carbonara is to die for! I use this for dinner parties and always get rave reviews.

i've only made one thing from this book so far, the butternut squash risotto, and it is one of the best things i've ever eaten.
