Eco Lips also has some vegan spf balms on their website only (never seen these ones in stores) and I like the mint one a lot: http://www.ecolips.com/store/products/8 ... -balm.aspx

I have the tinted ELF lip balm and it is not minty at all, but I do like it. Am planning on getting a few more.

So many choices! It will be hard to choose but I'm thrilled I have so many great options. I'll have fun testing these one by one. :) Thanks ppkers

I just tried the Hurraw moon balm - it is like Carmex (lil yellow lid pot!) - tingles and is a nice consistency! I thought of this thread....

I like Yaoh balms the best, the texture is exactly how I like it. I also like Crazy Rumours and Hurraw though. I'm addicted to lip balm.
The thing that puts me off trying the ELF balms is that they have petroleum in and I don't really like the feel of petroleum based lip balms.

Ooh, if it's thicker than their regular balms then I am really excited to try it! Thanks for mentioning it. I want to order their SPF one too, I think. My Whole Foods has been out of my favorite (Karite) for weeks, and I am almost out and panicking a little. But it's way too expensive and not completely perfect (I take my lip balm seriously) so I keep looking for a better one anyway.

Apparently Jack Black has been providing an incomplete list of ingredients on their packaging. They actually contain lanolin and beeswax: http://www.temptalia.com/jack-black-lip-balm-ingredients-more-than-you-thinkI just got the Hurraw mint balm (They threw it in for free with my last order!) and it reminds me a lot of Burt's Bees, except it's softer and glossier than what I remember of Burt's.

Well, that clears that up. I was seriously confused about what was happening with Jack Black. I thought they added or removed beeswax at some point, but never (from six years ago to a couple months ago) saw it listed when I checked. It didn't even occur to me that "Ingredients" meant "SOME of the ingredients".
I'm ordering those Hurraw balms now. I had to throw in Earl Grey even though I don't loove the regular formula.

Sucks about the Jack Black...By law they need to put all the ingredients on the label right?
My boyfriend bought me Hurraw balms from Detox Market in SF in: moon, earl grey and green tea. The formulas are nice, not sticky or gooey...I do not like balms that keep your lips stuck together like gum....

That really peas me off about Jack Black. I suspected as much, but that's still forking shady.

I like the Hurraw SPF balm but I find it's better for outdoor activities, swimming, etc., than for daily use. It's pretty thick and smells a bit strange, perhaps due to the zinc oxide. But it is very creamy and seems to have good protection and staying power.

I LOVE Lush's None Of Your Beeswax lip balm. It's the closest to BB's I've found, but it only comes in a tin, which can be messy on the fingers. And it's a little pricey. I also love the It Started With A Kiss, which is the same thing, but it's pink-y/red tint.

You guys are going to think I'm totally weird, but I got the night balm, and it kind of smells like ham? That's all I can think of when I smell it. Definitely something in the lunch meat family. They are super fast with shipping though, put a nice little "Hi Amy! <3" on the receipt (I like that), and sent a free grapefruit balm in addition to the ones I ordered, so I still got three backup balms out of it, even if I have to avoid the ham ones.

I do not know why my brain made the meat association, but I wish it hadn't. I'll just set them aside for a few weeks and try again.
