I can't see any way to contact her either. It's weird that Gigantic Parfums don't even seem to have a website otherwise I'd just contact them directly.

Edit: I found an e-mail address for the company!

Uch but their email doesn't work. What kind of company doesn't have a website or functioning email address?!

Anyone know of a good perfume store/Sephora online coupon/deal going on? I just got my refund and want to buy a new perfume that is very long overdue, but want to put aside some cash for once and not splurge to an extreme. I want to get the largest bottle because I love perfume but can't be bothered to get back to the store and pick up more of it. They're so expensive!

I just got the L'Occitane Verbena perfume for my birthday from my boyfriend, it is delicious and will be perfect for hot summer days. It really sucks if they are testing now? Are they?

I just bought another perfume from the greek brand Korres: http://www.korres.com - it's the peony/vanilla/pear scent and it may very well be the most "me" scent I've ever owned. It's delicious and sweet and spicy and a bit heavy. I am totally into it. It's funny, I've always been into citrus-y smells because I just never found the right scent for me. Then I talked to my friend who was like "No way you're a citrus girl. You need a heavier scent than that, you've got too much of a diva personality to smell like a lemon!" Haha. I guess she was right, though, she was the one who led me on to this scent. I keep smelling my wrists and feeling awesome about myself! Haha.

I am SO happy that the Issey Miyake perfumes are vegan! I really want to get a "Issey Miyake Hour Homme" for my boyfriend because it is the most delicious perfume known to mankind. Or womenkind. Or me.

Yes, I read that a few posts back, but what does that mean exactly?

Ah, now I get it. Bummer! Guess I'll be sticking with the Korres when this bottle is done. Damn China and their completely crazy animal testing laws!

I am sad to say, that Stella McCartney fragrances are owned by the evil L'Oreal :-(

Forketty, fork, fork. I googled it to check if this was still the case and now she's gone with P&G! :/

My mum wants to buy me a bottle of perfume for my b'day, I was going to go with Thierry Mugler Alien or Alien Essence Absolue as I contacted them in January and was told they do not test or contain animal ingredients and they don't seem to sell in China, but I just found out they're owned by Clarins who may or may not test but who do sell in China. I really want the perfume after testing it out a few times, but I cut out nail polish with big bad parent companies and I feel like I should do the same with perfume.

Now I'm shitty about Stella and have spent hours this morning googling perfumes and their companies/policies and can't find any that are ok. I really want to be able to try in store, rather than buy from Etsy/online. I saw Le Labo mentioned up thread as well as Issey Miyake - I might contact them just to double check.

It seems so - down the bottom of the TM website are the letters CFG which leads to the Clarins Fragrance Group website, which is just a page showing the brands they have. I googled it and according to one article they have an 85% stake in TM.

I was going to msg you re. Japan because I remember talking with you about brands from Japan and animal testing. Was it mandatory? Because I wondered if the response posted from Issey Miyake could be true seeing as they are a Japanese company.

I looked up Shiseido - they own Beauté Prestige International and that company makes fragrances for Issey Miyake :/ Earlier in the year Shiseido said they were going to stop most animal testing but it sounds like they still test and they sell to China.

Once upon a time a cruelty free beauty blogger (maybe My Beauty Bunny?) told me that a Peta rep she spoke to told her that a certain brand (NARS maybe? I don't remember) weren't on cruelty free lists because Shiseido are Japanese and that Japan requires companies based there to test their products, so like the opposite of the China situation, like a company could sell their stuff in Japan without testing, but if the company is Japanese they have to test. It seemed sort of convoluted and confusing, and I haven't seen anything else about Japan having mandatory testing, so I have no idea.

A bunch of the Kao brands are on the Peta Do Not Test List, and Kao are based in Japan, so it could have been bad information?

I wish this was more clear cut. Like an international ban on toiletry and cosmetics testing on animals, and universal labelling of vegan products. The food end of veganism is soooooo much simpler and easier than the personal grooming part.

I agree, proper labelling would be great!

Penhaligons - thank the Heavens above - because I'm obsessed with the majority of their fragrances.

(unfortunately they use leather in their gift-type things and badger hair, albeit "ethically sourced", in their shaving brushes)

V'tae, a small US company has some gorgeous stuff. I often get my mum to bring bits and pieces when she comes to visit.

i had a custom scent made for me called Mar after he passed that reminds me of him (cinnamon, sugar, a bit of musk) from Epic Soaps. I just contacted them to see if they can recreate a buttery popcorn scent! I blame the flan syrup and StarBucks!

essential oils are a nice alternative to perfume, because it is hard to find vegan perfume. i'm using pikaki right now.
