stupid Clinique high impact mascara. I bought some on my way through duty free, not even thinking to look at the ingredients, because I thought carmine would only be in red-coloured things. huh!

I guess my sister will be getting a present!

How ridiculous. At a sheer guess... Is it to balance out the colours that are otherwise in there, to create the right black overall? Grrr.

Speaking of colours — the jacaranda buds are very close to opening. You're in for a treat when you return :-)

It's in 90% of mascaras! ugh. I think to make it a deeper shade, but STILL.

and it annoys me how companies like Aubrey Organics and Burt's Bees use it because it's "natural." Yeah crushed bugs are natural, I guess.

I was looking at their site after the "vegan" brand I've been using just went to shit-and I question if her stuff is really vegan now. Probably will buy some soon.
I really need waterproof mascara but have no clue where to get it.

my grandmother once gave me an old fashioned mascara that came in a cake with a little, tiny brush to your lashes with. there should be a vegan version of that.

I can't get vegan mascara around here, it's so frustrating. I don't really have the money to pay to ship mascara either. Stupid carmine!

Tarte is the only one I have access to and I really like it. I wish they made a black/brown though or that sephora at least had it in stock.

I had an allergic reaction to the Beauty Without Cruelty mascara and my eyelashes fell out and one of my eyes swelled shut.

So, I would avoid that one if you have sensitive skin.

I am super picky, mostly about the brush though. I tried the Arbonne mascara and it had such a small spindly bruch, I like a nice big round, fat, plump brush...I actually washed and used an old lancome brush to apply the arbonne stuff because the brush that came with it is such crepe.

ZuZu luxe mascara I like. Aveda Mosscara is vegan. Am going to try that one once I am out of ZuZu.
I have yet to find one I am totally in love with.

Do you buy it online, or at a shop?

This is good to know, 'cause I was going to try this one, not that I have particularly sesitive skin, but I don't want to risk it.

I have been using mosscara for about a year. It has just been the easiest for me to get. It is okay when it is new, but it gets flaky pretty fast. I find that I have to apply it to my lash tips first, let that dry, and then apply it to my lash base or it will straighten my freshly curled lashes.

I did read that it dries out rather quickly. Bummer. I guess I will stick to ZuZu then, for now. Someone told me the entire Boots line is vegan. Does anyone here know? Lots of affordable make up and moisturizers and easy to get at Target.

If any Aussies are reading I've been using the one available through the Cruelty Free Shop online and I'm quite happy with it!

I've been using the newer .38oz Beauty Without Cruelty mascaras, they're supposedly more natural have no parabens. I like them a lot so far.

http://www.beautywithoutcruelty.com/index.cfm?mascara38

They have black tubes with with designs on them as opposed to the older ones in silver tubes.

I didn't realize Mosscara was vegan, I'm pretty sure I can get that!
