I am so so so so so in love with Greench. Even though they changed the packaging and still charge the same for half the amount. I seriously only have to apply it every few days, and even after showering/not applying it my pits are somehow still dry/not smelly throughout that day. That shiitake is magic, though sometimes I just don't understand how such a magical product will not eventually give me cancer.

Can we talk about henna again? I currently have a saran-wrapped head because it's my day off and my wedding is in two weeks, but do people have good experience with not leaving it in for as long? I have a thousand errands to do today so this was poorly planned. I usually do it overnight, but I'm wondering if that is even slightly necessary. I've been using caca rouge for about eight months and I'm working on my 2-3 inch roots.

i touch up my roots every six weeks or so, and i only leave it on for 2 1/2 or 3 hours. i've got blonde roots, and it's always fine. they're a little too bright for me the first day i do them, but after a day or two, they look darker and totally blend in. even when they are brighter, people have still assumed my hair was naturally red.

Thanks! I did three hours and it looks great. I hate applying henna but I can't get over how much more healthy my hair is since I made the switch to it a year ago. And I don't even mind waiting until I have a couple inches of roots because the colours blend nicely with my dirty blonde hair, and I almost always wear my hair up/curly so it looks like I've done it on purpose.

I actually don't mind my roots as much since changing to henna. I thought it was to do with me being a hippy vegan but maybe it is because of the lush. But yeah, so not fussed about my 2 inches of roots atm.

i read on either the lush henna or a long hair forum that somebody just wet a chunk of henna and then rubbed it on her part and hair line when she wanted to quickly cover roots. i haven't tried it but i wonder if it works well because i also hate applying henna. i love the result, though. this stuff barely fades even when i shampoo frequently.

See now the caca noir fades in my hair. After about a month it actually rubs off on my hands when I am straightening it. But then my hair has always been super freaky and managed to fade no matter how long lasting the dye was.

I don't know the ingredients, but the noir is probably mostly indigo, which has less staying power than henna.

I have hair like yours, daisychain. I lose colour fast! The best results I've had (for jet black hair) is first a treatment with henna (pure, not the Lush kind) and afterwards a treatment with indigo. So, that used to take me an entire day of hanging around with shiitake on my head. But if I want it dark brown I have to mix the henna and indigo and then it fades faster.

Thanks! My hair is definitely not black anymore so I'm hoping the brown will take. Only way to find out is try!

I actually wanted help in Lush this morning and had to stand around staring at things and pulling my best clueless/what the fizzle face to get help. So that was weird.

eta: annnnd she straight up offered me samples! Which, again, never happens. I think I entered an alternate universe.

Oh nice! I think I am going to try get some samples on Saturday while I am there. I'm going to be spending enough!

If anyone lives in the Boston area and wants to go to a Lush, I've found the Harvard Square one to be really good about giving you space. I've only really had a problem during the holidays when they have the newbies for seasonal help. Otherwise, they're pretty good about that thing.

Hi, just registered and don't know where to start so gonna talk about LUSH a bit!

Has anyone tried using Dirty shower gel as a shampoo? I was once looking to buy a small bottle of shower gel and I wasn't a big fan of the smell at first but then the shop lady was like
'oh this one is good for the hair too, especially if you have hard water at home' and right now I'm using probably my third big bottle, mostly as a shampoo. I've got quite a sensitive scalp and this one is one of the few things that doesn't leave it all itchy!

Also, has anyone ever had an allergic reaction to Angels on Bare Skin? Tried my luck three times and every time my face went puffy and itchy and red, maybe it was the flowers? After going to complain to the shop they gave me a sample of Aquamarine which is now my fav cleanser!

Love: Godiva shampoo and Lust perfume (matching scent) I get compliments every single time I wear Lust.
Jungle conditioner. Makes my hair so soft and such a unique scent, I cant stop smelling it. After the bar gets half gone I put it in a tin wish some water and it makes a balm texture which is easier to use.
Twilight shower gel, I am heartbroken that this was limited edition, a sweet lavender vanillascent.
Coalface: keeps my skin clear. A little drying though, and I've never found a Lush moisturizer that doesn't break me out. (or any moisturizer for that matter. Most recently I tried straight coconut oil and it seemed to be working but today, spots)
Potion lotion: carnation scent, lovely. It's an online only retro
Love all the powders.
The Comforter bubble bar: hot pink jam-scented bubblebath it's so wonderful!


Do not like:
Soak and float, and snake oil. I wanted to like these. I actually like the campfire scent. But these made my scalp ssooooo much worse, I nearly died from itchies. Only Lush product I ever returned.
The makeup. Meh, and the colors are too bright. Look gorgeous in the bottle and awful on me. I'll stick with my everyday minerals for eyes and face, and my HG of lipcolor which is any lip balm topped with The Balm For Keeps lip stain.

Regarding henna:
I was in Portland recently, so I got to go to a Lush store and buy their Caca Rouge Mamma henna bar. I was sooo excited to use it! My hair was bleach blonde, and has been for around a year. My roots had grown out an inch or two. My sister helped me apply the melted bar to my hair. We had to use 5 of the 6 blocks when many of the reviewers said 3 were plenty for their shoulder length hair. Getting the texture right is tricky, ours must have been too thick. I left it on for four hours, and washed it out. This is the result:

My bangs took most of the dye, and the rest of my hair still looked like a very faded reddish blonde. I was super bummed.
Maybe if I had left it on overnight it would've been more vivid. I didn't love my hair color, so I checked out a local natural food store, and bought about a cup of Uncle Harry's Auburn bulk henna. And mixed it with hot water, coconut oil, and the juice from one lemon. I let that mixture sit in a warm room for a couple hours, then applied and left on for 5 hours. This was the result:

I feel like the Lush bar was mostly filler. Conditioning filler to be sure, but it just didn't do anything color-wise for my hair. Lesson learned.

Thanks sisterlegume! Looks fiery, I was considering using LUSH henna but now I think I'ma order Uncle Harry's.

Yes, I'm not the biggest fan of Lush's henna bars and usually just buy pure henna (punjabi prime- mehandi), mix it with vinegar and let it sit for 12 hours.

Has anyone used r & b? I was given a sample of this after chatting to an (hard to find!) assistant about my crazy falling apart scalp. She said to rub it in and wash it out? But the website says to leave it in! So bloody confused.

Maybe the assistant who talked to you has used it like that and had good results, but yeah, it is a leave in conditioner/smoothing cream. I loove its scent. I haven't heard of rubbing it into the scalp. Aren't there a few other products made for that? Where you apply them to your scalp and leave them on for a bit before washing off.

I've started using angels with bare skin. My big spots have definitely calmed down in the past week. I'm getting worried about scarring on my forehead from smaller persistent ones that have been there over a year. I'm hoping that they fade eventually. I know they aren't noticeable with makeup on but I would love to be able to get away with wearing a tinted moisturiser again rather than foundation. I noticed that my skin is a little dry in patches this week but I think that could be down to the cold wind here, being ill and the heating system at work because my hands, arms and legs are dry too.

Love that I have Big shampoo again. I get 3 days out of a wash. I'm going to make sure I am never too broke again for Big! I haven't used the caca brun yet. I was planning on using it this weekend but I've been feeling rotten and it is just too labour intensive for me right now. Next weekend though.

I'm hoping to get to lush again by the end of April and maybe look at a moisturiser and a perfume. I'm a sad bunny because I have no perfume at present.

I actually think Lush Henna is good! I've been using it for years. Not got a good B/A but here's my current hair

it makes my hair so soft and lovely and a wonderful colour! I only use 2-3 blocks and my hair is boob length. I mix it with boiling water, slather it on, wrap my hair in plastic wrap and leave it for at least 3 hours. Then shower it out, and voila :)

maybe it's different on different hair though! I dunno.

I realized our new bathroom smells so good because I have a new bar of karma komba in there.

That's weird. I use it as a leave-in product sometimes, but never on my scalp, only on my hair. It's pretty good for curls. I bought it when I was trying to find a sub for Aveda's Be Curly lotion. I don't think I'm converted though. I like the scent but it's WAAAAAAAAAY too strong. I get a lot of comments on it on days that I use it. Also, it doesn't really tame the frizz as well as the Aveda products, without making my hair look heavy/greasy. I find it almost impossible to find the happy medium between not enough and too much, and sometimes it even looks frizzy and greasy at the same time, which I don't quite understand.

I love R&B. I definitely leave it in. I just use a tiny bit and comb it through my hair.

OMG. jdfunks and julialegume gave me a box of relaxation Lush products for a wedding present. Last night I used an unidentified lavender bath bomb at our B&B and it relaxed me so much that after I got out of the bath, I fell asleep on a towel on the bathroom floor and Jay thought I was dead. Amazing.
