I don't know what Scotland winters are like, but I'd like one of the coats and 45% off is decently reasonable if they hold up well. I like the Belden as well. If I were in Chicago, I'd definitely get the Lincoln.

See earlier in the thread; I am keeping a PPKcount of Vaute orders for 2011. I want to give it to Leanne if we hit above a dozen and see if she'll create a discount for us for next year or something. She's been really receptive to this in the past and she's just generally great, so I like to see her succeed.

I feel responsible for any frostbite you may have encountered this past year!

Ahhhh, I just ordered the Belden in black! I couldn't really afford it but the pea coat I bought at Macy's last year was $100 and is already falling apart/pilling and is not warm. At least I know this one will last a while and was not made in a sweat shop. And the discount was hard to resist.

Wow they are all really gorgeous. Would love to see my man in that longer Joaquin one for winter. They are most likely worth the price ( still too spendy for me, haha).
The lookbook is cute with the rescued animals and all!

I caved. I bought a blue pea the first year and the long black shiny one last year. They were just so nice, so I got a blue Alicia since it is the hybrid of the two that I have. Now I've got 3 in various styles and lengths? Heh... I must be addicted/unable to resist the Vaute splurge. I also bought a Williams for my s.o. as the silly boy doesn't have a real winter coat even though he's from VT.

I think it's cause most people drive up there and in the winter they're either indoors or in the car, or just put on layers for strenuous outdoor activity like shoveling snow, etc.

Right now, lovingeco.com has a couple of vaute coats (also some t-shirts and such) on sale. The discounts aren't massive - maybe 25-45% - but there are a couple of cute pink coats and a black short-sleeved cape-ish jacket available.

Love the Hepburn coat. Really don't like the men's coats or the silver flat buttons on the others

I have a Belden from last year, and I have two kitties (one black, one grey) and I haven't really had any trouble with their fur. I just hang the coat in my closet when I come in. :)

Are they typically really slow w/answering inquiries? I emailed asking their opinion on whether I'd chosen the right size and never heard back!

Holy forking wow I had no idea people spent that amount of money on coats! Is that normal? That is completely shocking to me.

with my present household income i could never justify spending the full-price on one of these coats. (i understand why they are expensive. and im not saying theyre not worth it.) but the discount is good and i spent about $150 on my last pregan (wool blend) knee-length pea coat, and that was several years ago when i had even less money. im pretty conflicted about it though. if i spend this much on something, i feel like for me personally it needs to be something i really love and will wear the shiitake out of. on the other hand i really do need a new winter coat - i actually needed one last year but i kept putting it off. and i live somewhere that i have to wear one pretty much every day from late october-april. so then the issue becomes how much of a pita is it going to be to find another vegan coat that i like, either locally or online, and will it be more expensive or more affordable. and if i wait to do that, the price of the belden is going to keep going up.
