It's 86 degrees and humid so I'm keeping it classy with the DIY Oscar the Grouch muscle shirt. But real talk, this time a couple years ago I would have rather suffered heatstroke than go out in public in a tank top OR shorts, let alone both, so this is actually kind of cool.

I so dig your style, KT! I used to be the same way about shorts, but it gets so hot and humid in my town in the summertime that it's really not an option. I also do sundresses a lot in order to solve this problem. Because I have a really hard time finding shorts that fit my narrowish hips/thickish thighs.

edit: Sorry, I guess I should say flattering shorts.

I have the exact opposite problem with shorts. I really want some cut off jean shorts but there are none that are tight enough round the thighs/butt that'll do up around my hips. This is also the reason that I don't own a single pair of trousers!

And KT I love that look!

Do we have the same body? My hips are pretty average, but my legs are huge. I'll find shorts that will hold themselves up snugly around my thighs while not even touching my waist.

My favorite pair ever are some "boyfriend" shorts from Target. They're supposed to fit loosely, but they fit me pretty snug without squeezing my thighs to death.

Thanks guyyys. And part of my shorts problem is how I'm built, too--I have narrow hips/no butt but my legs are super muscular. And all of my bodyfat is conveniently stored around my belly. These shorts are a little too loose and require a belt but screw it, it's hot out.

Looking great, Kilgore!
My reason for never wearing shorts is that I do have a butt & wide hips, but this year I own two pairs and I'm determined to wear them outside. (Kind of daunted, but heh...)

I'll look for those. I'm looking for something like KT's that come down about mid-thigh, but are tight the whole way. My other problem with shorts is that I have super short legs (29? inch inseam?), so shorts that are meant to hit mid thigh on most people hit at my knee and look forking stupid.

Blurry photo in a dusty mirror.

This is my Pussycat And The Dirty Johnsons tshirt, a skirt I made myself with some gorgeous tentacle design fabric and my new gothic lolita boots.

too idle to take a photo ... I think the camera needs charging & I left my 'phone at work ... sigh

We are going to a vegan pot-luck shortly ... I have my offerings (Isa's curried cabbage & peas and a tub of roasted onions, garlic, bell peppers & tomatoes ready to go ....

oh ... wait, I am wearing a white linen shirt, long sleeves folded up, a floaty skirt of blurred greens & white, flat beige slide-on sandals with a huge navy wrap for the chill that awaits me as the day draws in ...

As long as you are wearing some undies and are personally comfortable with the length I say go for it. The dress looks good on you and I totally agree with allularpunk...best outfits! :)

I don't think it matters how tall you are! I'm lucky to even be able to find anything that short, since I'm only 5'3" and everything is made for tall people. My problem comes in when I can't decide if my shirt is too low cut, because the world is taller than me and everyone can see directly down my front!

Haha! I feel like everything is made for short people. Actually, I think everything is made for average people, and those of us who are outside of 'average' get left out.

I'd like to meet someone who clothes fit perfectly. I'm average height I believe at 5'7". Pants are ALWAYS too long on me. I must have short legs? I also always always always have problems with the chest being too smalL in shirts/dresses but dont considered myself overly busty. I'm trying to learn how to just buy clothes I'm comfortable with and say screw what society thinks I should look like or how I should dress. Learning to love a whole new body post babies and a huge weight loss is hard enough. It's time to please myself.

That said it's always fun to peak in here and see what people are wearing. It's such great inspiration and we all have different styles and body types.

I am pretty much exactly average height and weight for that height and I will confirm that yes, everything is made for us.
