My mom is an enabler too.

Yeah, I just never buy dresses. It's hard to find dresses that fit or that I like enough for the $$. Especially since I tend to buy more expensive clothes, I go for basics that I can wear constantly.

I think that would be a great spring, summer, early fall option though. The fabric is lightweight so heavy tights wouldn't work, but light ones would.

Let me also step in as a dress keeping enabler. It's very flattering on you and as both you and Poopie have mentioned, versatile for both seasons and occasions.

Keeping the dress. My mom thinks I should size up so it hangs a little better around the hips. I found it online at Lard and Taylor, cheaper, so we are exchanging. (The dress was a gift, so I felt a but guilty about keeping it without using it as intended)

Kors does run a bit small usually, at least in bottoms.

Ha! My BFF from high school is also tall (as am I) and we constantly complain about "that length"- when a pant leg or a 'floor-length' skirt actually hits about 2-4 inches above the ankle.

ETA: Any "knee-length" skirt or dress I own is automatically layered over leggings :P

Oh man, that brings back memories of school uniform...where I'd sit down in class and the trousers would be halfway up my shin...everyone found it so hilarious except me!

Its too warm to wear leggings at the moment, but I spend all winter wearing my extra extra large tights (I buy the biggest size in the hopes it'll come far enough up my legs and not have the crotch mid-thigh) under every skirt.

Here's mine! I'm especially thrifty today. The shirt and skirt are both clothing swap scores from my friend Kat, and I made my shiny leggings myself. The only things I actually bought were my Cri de Coeur shoes and my Herbivore cardi (not pictured)!

Cute! I've been meaning to make my own leggings (because I'm also tall, so "ankle-length" leggings almost always end up being mid-calf leggings, and because it seems pretty easy), but I've never gotten around to it. I also really like your doors (or wherever you took the picture).

Cute, Erika!

Yeah I don't get it. I'm 5'8" and low-average pounds, and a "maxi-dress" barely reaches my shins. I still wear them all the time but I look a little weird.

Really? I've tried on a few, and they're always so long I could never wear them. I'm not tall, but I'm 5'6 so it's not like I'm super short.

I'm 5'6" (I think? I've never had my height measured, so I can't be sure- I'm basing it off my mum's height when she last got measured... which was when she was pregnant with me. So, a long-ass time ago) and the maxi-dress I bought mail-order t'other day is a couple inches above my ankles. Rubbish!

I am 5'0". . . Maxi dress = dress with train. I have never owned one and I had to wear tea length dresses to prom. Bleh. At least most mini skirts become work appropriate, and leggings can just be bunched up around the ankles or thighs! But I want a maxi dress like crazy.

I have a cheap one from H&M that I've washed enough times to render it knee length!

I'm 6' and oddly enough several years ago I found a maxi dress at TJ Maxx that is ankle length on me. I don't know how a "normal" height person would wear it.

I have been wearing really short stuff lately. I just don't give a fork and my slightly furry scabbed legs are awesome so whatever.

I bought a couple of maxi skirts and crop tops this weekend. Crop tops! I don't know what I was thinking. They all actually look pretty cute when I pull the skirts up over my belly button, so only an inch or two of midriff shows. I'm not entirely sure how work appropriate that look is, though, so I'm saving them for out-on-the-town evenings. I'm short-ish (5'3"), so i was surprised that in order to get the skirts to be floor length I have to unfold the top and pull them down kind of low. They're the kind of skirt with a long waistband so that you can adjust the height, I guess. I wanted to fold it over, but it only reached right above my ankles like that, unless I pulled the skirt down below my belly button (not happening).

Pics if I ever get brave enough to wear any in the daytime.
