This is pretty cool!!
This is the back story: April 5, 2011 is One Day Without Shoes (as seen here http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=160324547352033 )
These are the VEGAN! shoes
http://www.toms.com/womens/vegan?view=all

With every pair you purchase, TOMS will give a pair of new shoes to a child in need. One for One.

oh man, i love toms. they are like wearing slippers. they do wear out super quick, but i love them. anyway, i always am wearing them to work and in the last couple weeks i started wearing proper work shoes, ie hiking boots and i have received several comments about how i am wearing "real shoes" now instead of toms...

I just saw these today in a store--so weird because I never go into stores and suddenly the same shoe is on the PPK. I thought they looked a little flimsy for the price, but glad proceeds are going to a good cause.

I loved my Toms but the vegan ones fell apart in a few months of wear. Admittedly I was wearing them a lot in the summer and early fall, but they didn't last more than six months.

My brother always wears the non-vegan ones and they fall apart really quickly too. He says they last for about six months.

Not only do they fall apart but the bottoms are worn out really quickly and if it is at all wet you just slide everywhere like you are on ice, that happens at about 3 months if you wear them a lot.

I've wanted a vegan pair for a while now. I wish my WF sold them. They only sell the ones with suede on the inside-- at least I think it's suede. Either way, they don't sell the ones with a canvas insert.

I've been thinking about ordering a men's pair online because there aren't any solid black ones for women.

I wanted Toms but heard that they fall apart. I am still looking for the Payless fakes - every store is sold out!

I love my Toms! I wore them all summer and yeah, they're not in the best shape anymore, but I'd rather buy them again than buy fake Toms which don't go to support anything.

Actually the Payless fakes donate a pair of shoes just like Toms does.

I'm tempted by the wrap boots, specifically the olive green ones. I wouldn't wear them daily, so the durability isn't quite as much of an issue... if I can get 2-3 years out of occasional wear, I'd probably consider them worth it.

Are Toms comfortable though? I tend to walk miles a day just to get to/from work and lifestuff. Maybe I'll see if Sudo shoes has any I can try on, and purchase if they have the right size/color combo.

These aren't quite the same, but I found this Etsy shop with similar shoes to Toms, although a bit more formal/feminine looking. Have to stop myself from ordering multiple pairs:
