There was a whole controversy about them and a few others like Ginger and Liz.

Got an email from Duri today, they don't test or contain animal ingredients, and their bottles are really cool looking. Also, I haven't found the polishes to check the ingredient list yet, so I don't know if they're vegan, but the company that makes Wet n Wild has a new line of 72 polishes sold exclusively at CVS called Spoiled. The bottles look like Sinful Colors bottles in the photos I've seen, and the display doesn't have Wet n Wild written prominently anywhere.

You all inspired me to buy a couple bottles of Orly a while back. I was secretly lurking and coveting on the 'what polish are you wearing' thread. And I haven't worn nail polish since I was maybe 13.

Yay for greyhounds! My boy is red brindle (I don't know if it shows well in my avatar) so all the kids in the neighborhood say he looks like a tiger!
Ahem! Back to regularly scheduled nail polish talk.

I want to make my own nail polish remover. I think somebody posted a link to a blog that told you how to make one using acetone and vegetable glyercin but I can't find it.

Is NYC vegan friendly? I know they don't test on animals, and I'm looking at ingredients but this shiitake is hard to read. I'm not seeing anything though. Just wondering if it was deliberately left off or something.
Sincerely, nail polish newb

NYC is owned by Coty, according to the internets Coty tests on animals. According to Coty they don't unless required by law, or something??? Anyway, there's a thread on here re: Coty's testing policies viewtopic.php?f=33&t=15728&hilit=cotyI avoid Coty owned companies because the ambiguity and conflicting info, and there are so many other vegan polish companies so it's not worth it. Wet n Wild, Sinful Colors, LA Colors, LA Girl, and ELF are all right around the same price as NYC, and Kleancolor, NYX and Ruby Kisses are only a dollar or two more.
