This is me, too. So I just window shop online and live vicariously through other PPKers

Same here! I consider it a personal favor when the PPKers share pretty photos. I suppose I should share more things myself, but I might fall in love with something I shouldn't be buying...

Thank you! I am seriously in love with it- I hope it looks as good on me as it does on the website. I hardly ever have reason to wear a swimsuit but I would gladly invent more for that one.

I have that swimsuit! That shade of green is one of my favorite colors.

I have two weddings to go to this year: one informal and one formal. I haven't been to any in ages, and I wanted to double check on the dress etiquette before I go out and get something new to wear. It seems like all women wear a dress to weddings? Is that so? I am thinking about getting a yellow skirt and a nice shirt, maybe a striped one for a summer wedding (the informal one) and maybe wearing a plaid dress that I have had (kind of 60's mod style) for the fall wedding. Is black a no no?

Black is not a no-no. Black is timeless! I think as long as you don't look too funeral-y, black is fine. I think a fun shoe, shawl or accessories can really elevate the black dress to make it party friendly.

Skirt and shirt is totally acceptable for an informal wedding, especially in the summer. As long as the pieces aren't too casual.

Unrelated - but I too love some of the Modcloth bedding! Too bad it is all white as the base (my husband is gross).

Sounds good to me!

Women mostly wear dresses to weddings, but if you're happier in trousers by all means wear 'em.

I think it's the norm to wear a dress because lots of people don't get the chance to wear them often, not because it's a rule. I say go for it!

I associate it more with tradition; weddings often involve a lot of old-timey traditions, and "Sunday best" may be one of them.

I grew up in a religion where women could wear pants six days of the week and no one batted an eye, but dresses were REQUIRED on Sunday.

U GUISE my swimsuit came today and it's perfect. It's so classy and beautiful and verrrry flattering to my pear-shaped figure. The site recommended buying a size up since it runs small and good call. I will have a friendly person snap a photo of me lounging by the pool in LA (I really hope there's a view of the Hollywood sign from the pool, haha) to completely capture the mood :)

I need this dress:

And then I need someone to invite me somewhere that I can actually wear that dress.

Ha! That's so often the tricky part. You might have to throw a party!

I've been wanting this dress and now it shows up on every single sidebar ad, every time I'm on a site that has sidebar ads. It's way too expensive, and I know that their dresses fit weird and that I should NOT order it, but my brain is refusing to accept that logic.

I'm going to an event soon that requires cocktail wear. I'm not even sure what that means. I am using it as an excuse to by a new dress though. I need PPK's help. I like vintage style dresses. I'd like something with long sleeves or at least short, not sleeveless. Help!

I have no need for this dress, but I ordered it in eggplant yesterday anyway: http://www.forever21.com/Product/Produc ... 2000067018

I don't love the exposed zipper, but my hair will mostly cover it (well, it will when it grows out a bit...I just got it cut last week).

Blondie, I think that Forever 21 dress could be a cocktail dress in the darker shade, if it doesn't look too cheap. That's Forever 21 for ya. I love browsing over there but hardly ever buy anything. After two washes the shape is gone.

Yep, Forever 21 isn't usually my style, but I figured that at $17, it wasn't a big loss if it didn't fit/I didn't like it.

Yeah, the eggplant could work. I have a nice pair of vintage velvet heels that would look nice with it.

I ordered the dress Tzippy did in also in eggplant and also this as backup in case I don't like the color IRL or something. Plus who can't find a use for a black lace dress? http://www.forever21.com/Product/Produc ... VariantID=
