Girls,
I need your thoughts. My bf likes them but more importantly, I like them and I have thick thighs so they never really work. Is there a solution, or a company selling ones for girls with thick thighs? I feel like we're destined to wearing stockings for life, which is good most of the time.

I don't wear thigh highs personally, but I like Sock Dreams for sock shopping (plus free shipping!). I have biggish calves and they test the socks they sell on lots of people and have info on who they'll fit best. They have kept me from buying a lot of knee highs that would not have fit me. They also have a plus sized section ( http://www.sockdreams.com/products/sock-collections/plus-sized/).

Hips and Curves (web company) has thigh highs that are plus-sized, so depending on the fit of the rest of the stocking, those might work. I'm cheap, though, so I'd probably just clip the tight elasticy part of a stocking I already had (make a little cut at the back so they open up a bit more) and wear them with garters.

I'm not plus sized but I have a big butt and thick thighs to match my hips, hello to my German heritage. I like knee and thigh highs, they just always pinch and ride down.

I second Sock Dreams, their products are really great and the reviews are accurate.

I also have a big ol booty and thighs to match and I also recommend garter belt. Way more comfortable than those too-tight thigh highs.

I'm in the same boat (even the German thing!) and yeah, thigh highs alone don't work for me. I bought some last week to try since I've lost weight recently, but nope. I'm just not built for them! Garter belts work a lot better, and I think they look better too.

I got big thighs/butt situation too, and I've had the most luck with thigh highs when I buy a wide (4 or 5") lace top, I find them much less tight and likely to cause bulges, I also always buy one or two sizes bigger than I need. Weight/height charts tell me I'm on the high side of a medium. I buy XL. Or L at the very least. I get mine from hosieree.com I dislike garter belts... I find they make too many lines under my clothes. I also recently bought some of those 'garter belt tights' and I loooooove them. ETA These are the ones I have; http://hosieree.com/products/LuisaMariaLugliRogerVelvet.html

Dunebug, those are cool! I really like the ones that sockdreams has, and their cost. But their garter belts in black are out of stock. Thigh highs always make me blush and feel like a sex kitten...

i recommend buying a pair of tights that you really like, then cutting them off at the thigh, and wearing with a garter belt. i've done with with numerous pairs of tights because they're too damn snug around the waist! and yeah - like dunebug said - get a size or two larger than what you'd be on the chart. those charts lie.
thigh-highs are mad hot.

The charts never make sense to me anyway, because they're based on weight. I'm in the 140s and have friends in the mid 200s whose legs are the same thickness as mine.

Garters are so fun. I haven't worn them in a long time. My main reason, apart from the sexy, is that I am an aguaholic and fussing with tights every time I had to use the facilities was a pain in the asparagus. So everyone wins, right?

Put the garter belt on first and THEN the underwearz. Problem solved!

I do put the garter first, I just meant it was easier for me to use garters/stockings instead of regular tights.

I'm psyched about this thread! I've recently discovered I love thigh highs, but I don't actually know how to wear them. Sounds like I need a garter belt!
The Sock Dreams Extraordinary Thigh Highs stay up pretty well without garters, and they don't cause leg muffin top AT ALL.
