A new partner in my life has complained of itching and bumps after prolonged skin to skin contact.

Right now I am using Nature's Gate shampoo and conditioner and Eucerin body wash. I would like to switch away from these things to eliminate them as a cause.

What are the most hypoallergenic ( and cruelty free ) alternatives?

I don't know specifics, but maybe check out Origins?

I would look for something paraben free -- it can cause skin irritation. Your shampoo probably is, the body wash may not be. I have skin allergies and they are very frustrating because it's so difficult to find the cause. I'm even allergic to Method laundry detergent.

If you're trying to go as allergen-free as possible, California Baby makes a super sensitive line of products that I've had good luck with. Yes, they are meant for babies (I originally bought the stuff for my infant daughter), but they seem to work well for me too. The company doesn't test, and most of their products are vegan (the only exceptions are a few sunscreens with beeswax and their diaper rash cream has lanolin).

That sounds interesting. I do want to as allergen free as I can get as I don't want to end up going from one product to the next before the problem is eliminate. Thanks!

I know this isn't the most helpful, but be weary of things labeled as hypoallergenic; it's more of a buzz word that has no true standardized meaning. Even some Eucerin lotions have a pretty common allergen as a preservative.

Having gone through this myself, I constantly harp on getting a contact allergy test if you have the resources available to do so. I would probably still be dealing with constant breakouts had I not done that. Has your partner had problems with other products? that may be a good place to start, too.
